 Sometimes God gives you a little nudge.

Not a lightning bolt or a booming voice from the heavens, but just a push that says, “Hey, maybe you should put yourself out there a little more.”

Recently, I felt that nudge to expand my circle of friends. This has led me to some unexpected friendships that I am really beginning to treasure. People who make me laugh, encourage me, inspire me, and just make my heart feel loved.

Apparently, God knew I needed a few more people in my life before I did. I’m grateful I finally caught the hint. ❤️

This is not a copy and paste, these are my words. ♥️

Do you know the story of how St. Paul’s Chapel survived 9/11?

Less than 100 yards from The World Trade Center, with not a single broken window, it became “The Little Chapel That Stood.” ⛪️

Though covered in dust, it was cleaned and opened 24 hours later where it became a relief center for the thousands of heroes that helped in the aftermath of the attack.

Many years ago, when Jeff and I visited it, I was struck dumb by the feeling, the hushed voices of those around us and the mere idea that it even survived, but also by what it became - a true beacon of light in the darkness.

I will never forget that feeling, nor the feeling of faith it renewed in me for the humanity of all of us. To me it represented all those who ran into the danger to help, to rescue and to save. To be the light in someone else’s darkness.

If you’ve never been, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit. It defies all reason and is filled with mementos of all those responders who came from all over the world to help us in our moment of darkness.

Today’s Facebook Live Has Been Canceled 🚨

Apparently, I’ve caught a case of being under the weather and currently look a little more like this poor teddy bear than my usual fabulous self. 😂

Rather than possibly fall asleep mid-Live, I’m giving myself the day off to rest and recover.

I’ll be back soon—hopefully less pitiful and significantly more entertaining! 😂

I don’t know why, but every single time I get to create a sign with my business name on it, it feels a little momentous.

Maybe it’s because there was a time when “554 and Company” was just an idea and now I get to see the name on signs, tags and all the things I once only imagined.

I may act like I’m just making another sign, but internally I’m basically accepting an award and giving a speech. 😂

Seriously though, I never take it for granted. I’m so grateful that this little business of mine continues to grow, evolve, and give me opportunities to create things I love.

It may be just a sign, but to me, it means so much more. ❤️

These double sided pumpkins made out of scrap wood were really fun to make! Each one has its own personality and uses a different type of supplies from transfers to moulds to decoupage.

Lake Country Family Fun recommended we try it and it did not disappoint! Put it on your calendar for next summer as there’s only one more night open. We will definitely come again ☺️

I’m so excited that I got the project from Tuesday’s Facebook live already completed to show you!

This napkin holder flip was so much fun to do, and I loved the opportunity to use a great background paper from my friend Tammy at Flippin Furniture by Tammy.

As part of her , I get the opportunity to choose papers that call to me and when I saw this one, I knew it would be perfect for something, even though I didn’t know exactly what 😂

Combining it with sunflowers just seemed to be IT, but I’ve still got half a sheet calling my name.
