MZ Austria Made | "Laferme" Signed | Porcelain- HandPainted Roses & Gold Gild c.1884-1909

Moritz Zdekauer was renowned for exporting high-quality, romantic European pottery that brought an air of "Old World" elegance and refined craftsmanship into Gilded Age American homes. The fact that this piece bears the "Laferme" signature makes it even more special to us—it’s a direct link to the individual artist who hand-painted these roses over a hundred years ago.

At The Aura of Eras, we’re particularly drawn to these Moritz Zdekauer exports; they represent a specific era in the late 19th century when Bohemian porcelain manufacturers were competing with the finest French and German houses. This bowl, with its "beehive" decorator's mark, was designed to bring the prestigious Royal Vienna aesthetic into the homes of turn-of-the-century collectors. We love that it isn't just a factory-standard item, but a hand-painted relic that captures the romantic, floral-heavy transition from the Victorian to the Edwardian period.

This authentic Italian import was produced specifically for Paradox. It features a high-gloss, embossed grape design with a beautiful green leaf spout and vine-inspired handle. The underside carries the official Paradox registry mark along with the "Made in Italy" impressed hallmark and item number 9506, confirming its vintage European provenance.

At The Aura of Eras, we love pieces like this because they represent the post-war boom of Italian ceramic artistry. Paradox was known for importing high-quality, whimsical Italian pottery that brought a Mediterranean "energy" into mid-century American homes
