You might receive 100 no’s, but all you need is 1 YES!

Very special thank you to Foot Locker for bringing me on to host and facilitate 2 Live Pitch Competitions ENVSN FESTIVAL last weekend 💚 20+ brave entrepreneurs took the stage to present their 60 second pitch and my fellow judges and I had to make the hard decision to choose 2 winners of the $500 grant from Foot Locker on the spot!

2 winners for this pitch were selected but what was more important to me is that everyone received real time feedback on their pitch, how they should structure it, core components to winning a pitch and a new network of fellow entrepreneurs 🫶🏽

ENVSN Fest may be behind us, but the memories, the energy, and the connections we made are staying with us for a long time.

To our incredible stylists, thank you for showing up and showing out. Your talent, your hands, your heart, it was all on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder to call you part of this team.

To the entire Dosso team, thank you for the late nights, the early mornings, and the passion you poured into every single detail. This weekend didn’t happen without you.

And to our tribe, this one’s for you. Whether you stopped by our booth, purchased something special, booked an appointment, shared a post, or simply showed us love from your feed, we felt it.

Every single interaction meant something. You are the reason we do what we do, and we don’t take that for granted.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: You should not be calling the BBB on small businesses.

My Pop Pop used to say, “Dee, it’s so much easier to be nice than it is to be nasty.” If I’ve told yall the amount of times that claims, chargebacks and intentional bad reviews came my way I would need a full Ted Talk.

As a Founder who prides myself on receiving feedback it’s my job to read and analyze that feedback whether good or bad and sift through it to understand where I can fill in the gaps and improve my business.

What I don’t understand is when people go above and beyond to defame, harass and call the BBB. To me it’s counterproductive and honestly heartbreaking. If you’ve given us the direct feedback and we acknowledge it, going above and beyond to “make us pay” seems frivolous. Every business isn’t made for you to shop with or support and it’s extremely important for you to read their store policies before you do so.

What y’all think? Y’all reporting small businesses? Giving them direct feedback? Doing chargebacks? Or charging it to the game?

Yesterday’s activation was so beautiful 💚 Very special thank you to The Fashion Law Africa Summit | TFLAS ™️ Shopify & The Lighthouse for hosting us in LA!

This was such a beautiful and intentional space that was built for creators, designers and entrepreneurs and we’re so glad that we were able to educate more people about our 3X’s clinically tested non-toxic and hypoallergenic braiding hair.

We flew to London to visit the facility that conducted our hypoallergenic clinical trial for our braiding hair ✈️

In Part 1 of this series, I’ll show you the Princeton Consumer Research facility where they conduct hundreds of tests per year to back up consumer product’s claims. Our first clinical trial began in 2023 to verify that our braiding hair is clinically tested hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.

When the results came back I was so elated that the products that I’ve been using and selling are exactly what we market them as. It was a great way to reassure our customers that they can trust our products.

Stay tuned for Part 2 where we hear the technician explain more about the test, how it was conducted and our results!

You may not be able to see the difference with your naked EYE, but the microscope will tell you everything that you need to know about your scalp and hair health!

Last week in Paris 2026 the incomparable .ns.hair joined the activation and serviced 20+ clients with her trichology scoping services to give consultations on best practices for hair washing, detoxing and product recommendations.

I was able to sit in Nina’s chair and take a look at my scalp health and the scope verified that using products and more specifically our clinically tested non-toxic and hypoallergenic braiding hair showed a drastic difference than the other clients who were scoped. From what we see in the photos I have a little bit of sweat that is from me naturally sweating in my head first which means that I should be washing my scalp and hair once a week (You can wash your hair while your braids are installed, use the clarifying shampoo)!

Now, for the other clients in Part 1 they had to make complete product and lifestyle changes due to the toxic products that they were using and not properly washing their hair regularly. Over time, product builds up and creates a biofilm on your scalp and can cause infections, puss, blood and inflammation.

Stay tuned for Part 2 where we share a clients scalp that the toxic braiding hair and the alcohol in the gels used burned their follicles!
