I was in my studio and I kept hearing singing and I went out front and teared up at the opera mixed in with all the traffic and life happening on Broad Street. This is one reason I love city life.

🦕 Philadelphia and the suburbs, we cannot let this happen. 🦕
The Academy of Natural Sciences Academy of Natural Sciences — the oldest natural history museum in the Americas, open since 1828 — is set to close its doors to the public on September 30. Its last regular day is September 27.
For almost 200 years, this museum has been where Philly kids met their first dinosaur, touched a butterfly, and fell in love with science. If you grew up here, or you're raising a family here, chances are your school took you (or your kids) through those doors. That's what makes this city work — we're not some anonymous metropolis, we're a collection of neighborhoods and communities who show up for each other and for the places that raised us. This museum is one of those places.
And it didn't have to end this way. Hours were slashed last fall. The children's science camp was cut in February. Federal and local Governments have slashed funding for the arts and sciences. Staff were laid off. Each decision chipped away at the museum until "declining attendance" became the excuse for closing it for good — a slow unwind that Drexel's leadership and the Academy's own former CEO presided over before he resigned when the closure was announced. Philadelphians are right to ask hard questions about whether this was managed with the urgency and care a 200-year-old institution deserved.
This is fixable. Mayor Parker has said she's working with Governor Shapiro to preserve the Academy's mission — that's a start, but it needs pressure behind it.

I've mentioned before I get to live vicariously through my children. Last night was really special. My daughter is off on another adventure and the first stadium stop (outside Boston) happened to be in Philadelphia. Me and a consortium of best friends and family got great seats with all of the nonprofits that Busyheads supports in this city. And yes, I made a contact and I can't wait to see if we can make something work and The Weaving Circle

Stadium Concerts have certainly changed from the ones I went to many decades ago! The air smelled like air!! IYKYK. The concert was full of all the feels! I can't imagine everybody in that stadium didn't feel surrounded by love. We need more of this in the world and with love like this, I'm beginning to feel a shift...

Exploring Personal Identity: A Journey of Self-Discovery

The first thing I know for sure is this: I know a lot… and I truly know very little.Which, frankly, is the most honest place to stand. Life is complicated. It’s layered, nuanced, and allergic to sound bites. Most of that nuance gets trampled somewhere between our morning coffee and whatever fire we’re putting out before dinner. We rarely take the time to actually…...
