1966 Baldwin Vibraslim
Baldwin/Burns guitars are some of the most underrated electric guitars of the mid 60's. Jim Burns is often referred to as the British Leo Fender. This is a great playing and sounding example of the later style Vibraslim from the Baldwin era. It features a semi hollow construction similar to the Gibson ES-335 with a solid center block. The unique "Bar-O-Matik" pickup is a stacked humbucker in the neck position with a second coil that can be blended in. In the bridge position is a snappy single coil. The three way switch and master volume allow you to dial in the exact tone you're looking for. This was a very premium model that originally retailed for 140 pounds which is around $3200 today when adjusted for inflation. It plays perfectly up the neck with very low action at 2/32" at the 12th fret. It even comes with the original hard case. The wide body is very comfortable and balanced to hold and the pickups provide a large variety of sounds from a warm rhythm to a bright strat lead tone.

2020 High Spirit Flamingo Hawk
We feel that High Spirit guitars are some of the best value American made instruments available today. They are hand made by Connor Kelly in San Diego, California. We love how cohesive the overall design is- the Flamingo Hawk is a strat style body but almost every part has been custom designed and manufactured. The pickups are made by Gemini in NY and have a tone that is similar to a classic tele but with a goldfoil in the neck position. The fretwork is flawless and the playability is perfect up the neck. If you're looking for a twist on classic Fender designs with modern playability and feel, it's hard to go wrong with this one.

2021 Rob Goldberg "Ruby" 12 String
This is a beautiful acoustic 12 string by Alaskan Luthier, Rob Goldberg, custom made for Richard Gilewitz. The 15.5 inch wide body gives it a huge, cavernous sound while the cedar and cocobolo wood combination provides a rounded high end and plenty of rich overtones. Richard wanted red for the color scheme of this guitar so red mirror glass was used for the soundhole ring and the fingerboard inlays. The fingerboard position markers have mother of pearl and the rectangles are bordered with copper.

We just listed this beautiful pre-war 1939 Epiphone Deluxe for sale on our site. It received a fresh refret from and is all ready to go. Examples from the pre-war era are extremely rare, only around 20 are known to exist from 1939. Production numbers skyrocketed after WWII as GI's returned and the economy boomed. The Deluxe was the direct competitor to the Gibson L-5, so these were some of the most expensive instruments available at the time.

1971 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe
This is a great Les Paul Deluxe for the gigging musician who wants the feel of a vintage guitar with all the conveniences of a modern instrument. All the necessary repairs have been done by our neighbor and is ready to take out on stage. The work includes a fresh refret, gluing up the minor "smile" break on the back on the headstock, and replacing the treble volume pot. The pickups were replaced with a Seymour Duncan Antiquity P-90 in the neck and Gibson P-90 in the bridge, the original mini humbuckers are also included. It plays cleanly up the neck with very low action at 4/64" - 3/64". This is a very nice feeling and playing example of an early 70's deluxe. It comes complete with a newer brown hard shell case.

1964 Martin 0-16NY
The 0-16NY was the first "reissue" guitar from the Martin guitar company. Made in the old factory in Nazareth, PA, it has all the features you would want in a small body fingerpicker. It has been fully gone over by luthier . Cosmetically there is plenty of play wear, if you are looking for a pristine example, this might not be the one for you. Playability and tone-wise, it is fantastic. It's previously had a neck reset so the action is nice and low. The frets are in excellent shape with only minor wear in the first two frets. It has a very warm lush tone and a surprising amount of volume from a small body. The wide neck combined with the wide spacing at the saddle makes it a perfect guitar for fingerpicking.

c.1936 Kalamazoo KG-14
This is a great sounding Kalamazoo KG-14's and it's been fully gone over by luthier . These budget ladder braced guitars, made by Gibson, have a tone that is completely different than your typical X braced guitar- very punchy and fundamental with lots of volume and projection. The action is nice and comfortable up the neck at 7/64" - 5/64" at the 12th fret. These budget guitars often don't get the same kind of respect as their more expensive Gibson counterparts but people are starting to catch on. It is very rare to find one in such clean, original, untouched condition. One minor split on the back was cleanly repaired. It even came with the original saddle that had been slotted to bring down the action. This was most likely done by the original owner not long after it had been purchased. We decided to keep the saddle as it is still functional and is part of the instrument's history. The original frets are in great shape with practically no wear. It comes complete with the original Geib chipboard case!

1965 Baldwin Nu-Sonic Bass
The Baldwin Burns Nu Sonic bass is like a hybrid between a Fender Mustang and Jazz Bass. It has the short 30" scale length and compact size of a Mustang Bass, but with the dual pickup configuration and controls of a Jazz Bass. What you end up with is an extremely comfortable instrument with a huge variety of tonal options. It weighs in at only 6.1 lbs which is significantly lighter than even most guitars. The tone is very punchy and even. It is wired like a jazz bass but with a pickup selector. The neck position is warm and similar to a P-bass tone. The bridge position is bright and provides tones similar to a danelectro 6 string "tic tac" bass. The middle position is very versatile and allows you to find the perfect balance between the two pickups.

This one got the full restoration with a fresh refret from our neighbors at R. Hyde custom basses. Almost all of these came from the factory wired incorrectly, Ryan fixed the issue and replaced the 0.1uF cap with a 0.047uF cap for a brighter and more balanced tone. This is likely the best sounding and playing Nu Sonic bass available on the market. These little basses are some of most the underrated in the world of vintage guitars.

The 1959 Precision Bass is considered by many to be the pinnacle of Fender electric basses. If you're looking for an all original split coil, maple board example,. It has the sought after transitional three tone sunburst, which in my opinion is the best looking sunburst they did. The red and yellow is gradually shaded compared to the more distinct "target" style burst that came in the 60's when production numbers increased. 1959 was also the last year for the anodized gold pickguard. It was discontinued at the time because players complained that the gold wore off too easily. In retrospect, it was probably the best pickguard material Fender used because it is very stable and durable, the celluloid guards that came after have a tendency to shrink and crack after decades of use.

The neck profile is thin front to back with a rounded profile, the edge of the fingerboard is very comfortably rolled from decades of gigging. It is a one owner instrument and you can clearly see it was well loved. The entire fretboard was used, all the way up to the last fret. The back of the neck has been worn smooth. There is a clear indent on the bass side of the neck where it joins the body, showing where he rested his thumb. The finish worn away on the body above the guard is where his palm rested. The original frets have some wear in the first position but not as heavily as one might expect thanks to being strung with flatwounds for most of its life. It plays easily and cleanly with very low action up the neck

It has a great punchy bright tone that is evident even when the bass is played unplugged. It is an ideal P-bass tone that sits perfectly in a mix- strong mid range with tons of clarity and a tight bass response. It is currently strung with Labella flatwounds but it also sounds great with round wounds. With rounds, it has a great growly rock tone with more top end. Overall this a dream Precision bass that would work in almost any musical context.

R. Hyde is a talented custom bass luthier who also happens to be in the same building- The Bok in South Philadelphia. He is a former builder at Ken Smith basses with over 20 years experience. The Soul Machine is his most popular model and is the perfect hybrid between a Fender Jazz Bass and a Parker Fly. The body is hand carved and contoured to be thin and sleek, weighing in at just under 7.5 pounds. It has a great resonance to the body and feels very solid. The single coil Nostrand pickups and controls are the familiar layout of a Jazz bass. The neck profile splits the difference between a J and P measuring in at 1 11/16" at the nut, 0.86" at the first fret and 0.93" at the 12th. It is a very comfortable rounded C profile with soft rolled fingerboard edges. This is an ideal instrument for anyone seeking the classic tone of a Jazz bass but at a much lighter weight and with a sleek modern look.
