Uhuru and Freedom Greetings, Family!

The team behind the Uhuru Book Fair and Marketplace wants to say thank you — from the bottom of our hearts — for standing with us and making the 11th Annual Uhuru Book Fair the powerful success that it was.

Whether you were vending your amazing products, sharing your organization's resources, sharing your gifts as a writer, or blessing our program and Children's Circle with your jaw-dropping talents — we see you, and we appreciate you. You didn't just "participate." You showed up for your people, and that matters.

As you know, this isn't just an ordinary Book Fair. It is an African-owned and African-run institution, rooted in community and carried forward by community — part of a larger project building an independent, anti-colonial economy for and by the Black working class. Every vendor, every author, every performer, every hand that touched this event is part of that legacy. Your presence was not just support, it was an act of building. We had a record number of authors and booksellers, and that just speaks to the dedication of this community!

We also want to give a special thanks to who gave away some very comfortable bombas socks during the bookfair!

We hope to see you again, family, for our Season Finale on Saturday, October 17!

We’ve got a FULL DAY planned for the 11th Anniversary of the Uhuru Book Fair & Marketplace!

From the opening music at 9AM through the closing call at 5PM, come spend the day with us for books, political education, music, poetry, live performances, speakers, author readings, vendors, and community. ✊🏾🎤📚

And bring the young ones! 👧🏾🏃🏾‍♀️ The Children’s Circle, brought to you by Grace Abounds Mentoring, will run from 10AM–4PM with:
