Beavers! In! Spaaaace! This comic combines so many of my favorite things: Educational comics, vintage kids comics, double entendres, publishers I've never heard of... ("Cities Science Dealers Present...")

Found this gem yesterday at the South Jersey Comic & Toy Bonanza in hosted by Frankenstein Comics, and couldn't resist. It was the first comic I picked up!

Happy Halloween! I've spent October gathering all the horror comics in my huge collection, and wanted to show them off before all the candy goes on sale. Jesus the Marvel superhero! Happy Easter to those who celebrate, and jelly beans and chocolate bunnies to all.

Here's an amazing cover from the 1993 Life Of Christ series by Marvel and Nelson, a brand explained below. I have yet to add this one to my collection, but I do have two versions of the Life Of Christ: The Christmas Story comic, and at least one of the Christian superhero The Illuminator. Man do I love some religious comics. I'll be sharing many more from my collection.

INFO: In 1993, Marvel teamed up with Thomas Nelson Publishing to create Christian media genre comics, including a Christian superhero named The Illuminator. They made adaptions of Christian novels too, including In His Steps, The Screwtape Letters (by CS Lewis of Narnia fame), and The Pilgrim's Progress.

WOW: "One of Nelson Comics' graphic novels is The Screwtape Letters, which includes a frank discussion of sexuality from a Christian perspective, as well as significant discussion of Christian morality, metaphysics, the nature of Heaven and Hell, and themes of love, self-improvement, and overcoming trials."

It's Valentine's Day, so Let's Get Romantic! This is BRIDES IN LOVE #3 from Charlton Comics, published in April of 1956. I picked out my favorite panels, but man someone could write a long dissertation on the eye popping antique gender dynamics in this one issue. Bechdel test? Ha!
