THE EARLY  is Alex Lewis (guitars and synthesizers) and Jake Nussbaum (drums and electronics). Somewhere in the textural grandeur of post-rock, the communicational intimacy of jazz improvisation, the patient grooves of minimalism, Chicago and Philadelphia.

BENT LIGHT is the duo of Michael Slyne and Russell Linder. Two guitars. Millions of pedals. Busted tape machines sing too. 

Philly's own ANNE ISHII  (Totally Automatic) will be treating us to a short electronics set.

Scopin / Chelsea Hotel. Photographer Albert Scopin lived at the Chelsea Hotel from 1969-1972, and methodically captured the other residents of these storied walls throughout his time there. Patti Smith, Robert Mapplethorpe, Jonas Mekas, Candy Darling, Harry Smith, the list of artists and outcasts goes on. A beautiful time capsule! New paperback from $50.

New in the shop: Some very handsome early 1960s issues of PRINT: America's Graphic Design Magazine. These particular issues were apparently part of the in-house research library at Argosy Magazine - a long-running "men's magazine" featuring short fiction and true crime writing. Most issues are priced at $20
