Join the Red Rabbits for their De-Escalation 101 training to learn some basics surrounding de-escalation practices that can be used towards greater community care in the streets or on the ground.

We will discuss ways to keep ourselves grounded, and practice co-regulation through tension and conflicts.Great for organizers interested in practicing community safety/care in addition to public workers.

Every second Friday of the month at the Shoe at 704 South St! Next one is Friday, September 11th at 7pm.

Wooden Shoe events are always free entry, masks required and provided, mobility aid accessible entrance, no RSVP needed.

Los Red Rabbits presentan su taller de "Desescalada 101”. Vengan a aprender los fundamentos de las prácticas de desescalada.

Nos juntamos el segundo viernes de cada mes en el Wooden Shoe (704 South St) para aprender sobre diversas estrategias para mantenernos centrados y practicaremos la corregulación en situaciones de tensión y conflicto. Esta actividad es ideal tanto para organizadores interesados en poner en práctica la seguridad y el cuidado comunitario, como para trabajadores del sector público.

Since Donald Trump’s return to power, many leftists have grappled with the question, How do we combat the Trump regime in ways that promote systemic liberatory change? The 2026 pamphlet Naming the Moment: Revolutionary Strategy in a Time of Crisis, by an ad hoc group of radical organizers, is a recent attempt to foster to this discussion. In this event, project participant Matthew N. Lyons will share highlights of the pamphlet, relate it to other writings on the topic, and invite discussion of the challenges and opportunities we face, and strategies for beating the authoritarians and creating a new world.

My comrades in Philly, I'll be at Wooden Shoe Books September 4th 8-10pm, and I'm beyond excited! This place is a space with deep roots in community, activism, radical thought, and amplification of independent voices and free thinkers. This place IS HISTORY. And I am honored to take part in that by having a date on my tour there!
To bring my poetry music to a place that has long held space for organizers, artists, and movements feels full circle for me.
I'm gonna do some of my hits and share some jawns that carried me through different seasons. I'm also gonna do some tracks from the upcoming Free The Saint album. This project is about liberation, radical thought, speaking your mind, and reclaiming my time.
Pull up and talk heavy with me, vibe with me, reflect with me, grab some revolutionary books ✊🏾, support local artists, and grab some merch. I'll have lots of stuff along with tons of resources!

The next round of Wooden Shoe Anarchist Theory Book Club is starting, now on Saturday afternoons! Book club will read roughly 2 sections per meeting and meet every 2-3 weeks as outlined above.
