I need my tote to easily go over any coat, jacket or puff sleeve otherwise my whole mood is ruined. So I designed the Veronica tote to have a super long drop so we can all live in peace without tote bags up in our armpits. Bonus is that it’s super cute and comes in incredible color combos.

your tote bag shouldn’t give you mental breakdowns
I was at the farmer’s market the other day and filled my old tote with stuff and the straps were too short it was up in my armpit AND the straps kept falling down. I got frustrated and dropped it on the ground and cried IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS. So I went to the studio and designed the Room Shop answer to the perfect casual tote. The one I wished I had, one with super long straps in refreshing color combos with a cool semi sheer element.

Nine years ago in June of 2017 we launched a company called Room Shop Vintage. Dryw and I painstakingly built sets and photographed vintage in the back bedroom of our house (hence “Room Shop”) and posted to sell on Instagram, hosting periodic pop ups (again in our back bedroom). It was a different world, a different brand but the DNA is the same. Whimsical things to wear that reclaim the girlhood joy of playing dress up but this time with comfort at the forefront. For those who have been here since day 1 - can you believe it’s been 9 years?? What are your earliest Room Shop memories? Enjoy the memory lane of photos from our first year in business wrapped up with the moment I made the very first cloud scrunchie thus changing the business forever.
