Full top end rebuild on this Stihl MS 311 after tearing it down and finding how bad the piston and cylinder were scored, likely caused from putting straight gas in it. These farm and ranch type saws are a little more complicated to rebuild but still totally doable! Added a West Coast Saw muffler port and this saw is running better than new!

Don't forgot to check and replace your sprockets when needed! It's often easy to forget and the sprocket on a chainsaw is a high wear item, depending on what your cutting and how sharp or dull the chain is!
After 3+ years of use on my Stihl MS 271 Farm Boss it was time. Once the grooves start to wear down deeper in the sprocket go ahead and change it out and grease that needle bearing too!
