Wow! A car wash for just $1.00?

Check out this classic clip a 1953 Buick Roadmaster getting washed at a vintage car wash in 1959. Notice the glass grille cover on the front of the Buick? Does anyone know if that was an aftermarket piece or something that came with the car?
