July Book Club Recap 📚💕

Collective rating: 9/10 ✨

Tia Williams does it EVERY time. The way she intertwines humor, love, and very real-life challenges made this such a fun read and gave us plenty to talk about.

And we have to give Tia her flowers because her writing has officially pulled TWO of our members out of reading slumps in the past. 👏🏽

And everybody already knows Petra’s favorite book is A Love Song for Ricki Wilde, so at this point…

Safe to say, we love Tia DOWN over here! 😂💕📚

What was your last read and what did you rate it?

Today’s reminder: Celebrate the chapter you’re in. The version of you that’s carrying you today deserves just as much love as the one you’re becoming.

It’s easy to get caught up in chasing what’s next that we forget to appreciate everything we’ve already overcome. Every lesson, every setback, every small victory has shaped the person you are today.

There is beauty in this season even if it doesn’t look the way you imagined. There is purpose in your waiting, growth in your stillness, and strength in simply continuing to show up.

The people who love you, the community you’re building, the kindness you extend, and the grace you give yourself all matter. Life isn’t just about arriving at the destination; it’s about embracing the moments that make the journey meaningful.

💕We’d love to hear from you: What’s one thing about your life or yourself that you’re grateful for in this season? Share it in the comments. Your story might be the encouragement someone else needs today.

“Don’t rush through the chapter that’s preparing you for the story you’ve been praying for.”

🩷✨ Sometimes we have to pause and take it all in.

It feels like we just celebrated our Litversary and one year in business, and somehow we’re already halfway through Year Two.

The last six months have been nothing short of incredible.

From community events and book clubs to markets, conferences, festivals, partnerships, pop-ups, and unforgettable conversations, we’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many amazing people who believe in the power of books, community, and representation.

And now, we’ve added another milestone to the journey: The Lit Twis’t® is officially trademarked.

None of this happens without you.

Thank you for every purchase, every share, every recommendation, every event attended, every author supported, and every moment you’ve poured into this community. Your love and support continue to remind us why this mission matters.

This isn’t just our celebration it’s yours too.

Together, we’ve created a space that celebrates Black and Brown women, authors, creativity, literacy, connection, and community from all walks of life.

So here’s to an incredible first half of the year. 🩷🥂

And trust us we’re just getting started.

With Books en Blanc on October 4, our Adult Book Fair later this year, and so many more experiences on the horizon, we can’t wait to continue growing, reading, connecting, and celebrating with you.

Raise a mocktail with us to what’s been accomplished and all that’s still to come. 🩷✨

Make sure you’re on our email list so you don’t miss a thing.

Happy Birthday to our CEO & Founder, Petra Sherbin-Fox. ✨

June 13th. A number often connected to transformation, resilience, rebirth, and the courage to build something different even when the vision challenges the norm.

Today, we celebrate more than a birthday. We celebrate a visionary.

A woman whose heart, passion, and unwavering dedication continue to create space for Black creativity, Black voices, Black women, and Black bodies to not only exist but to be seen, protected, amplified, celebrated, and rightfully acknowledged.

Thank you for your courage to go against the mainstream. Thank you for your compassion for people. Thank you for your commitment to legacy, culture, storytelling, and community.

We know this work is not easy. It takes strength to dream, but even greater strength to execute that dream in a way that opens doors for others and creates safe spaces where people can show up fully as themselves.

Because of your vision, so many people feel empowered to take up space unapologetically and continue contributing to the world through creativity, brilliance, and purpose.

Your leadership matters. Your voice matters. Your work matters.

And today, we honor YOU.

Please join us in wishing our incredible visionary, Petra a very Happy Birthday in the comments below. 💕✨

EARLY BIRD TICKETS ARE NOW LIVE 🎟️

Some experiences are so special they deserve a chapter of their own.

On October 4, 2026, we’re inviting you to step into a world where books become the backdrop for connection, conversation, culture, and unforgettable memories.

Books en Blanc was created because Phoenix deserves a literary experience that feels bigger than a book event.

This is for the readers who highlight their favorite passages. The friends who lose track of time talking about a book that changed them. The dreamers, the creatives, the authors, the wellness lovers, and the people who simply enjoy beautiful experiences shared with beautiful people.

Picture yourself dressed in white, arriving at a secret location surrounded by fellow book lovers. Imagine an afternoon filled with meaningful conversations, curated experiences, incredible food, moments of reflection, laughter, discovery, and community.

This isn’t about showing up, grabbing a book, and heading home.

It’s about slowing down.

It’s about connecting.

It’s about experiencing what happens when stories bring people together.

And because we believe every great story deserves a few surprises, we’re preparing exclusive experiences, bookish giveaways, sponsor gifts, VIP moments, special guests, and activations that will continue to unfold as we get closer to October.

Early Bird Tickets are available now, but only for a limited time.

🎟️ Secure your ticket through the link in our bio.

We’re also accepting applications for a limited number of vendors, authors, and curated brand partners. If your business aligns with books, literacy, wellness, lifestyle, or culinary experiences, email us at [email protected] and tell us about your brand.

October 4 isn’t a date you’ll want to hear about later.

It’s a date you’ll want to say, “I was there.”

✨ “Some stories are read. The unforgettable ones are experienced.” ✨
