🚨 A Real Story About Shipping Container Scams (Read This Before Buying)
Last week a customer called us asking about a container.
During the conversation he mentioned something that unfortunately we’re hearing more and more lately.
He said:
“I found a container online for $1,500 delivered. They asked for a deposit through Zelle… but after I paid, the seller disappeared.”
Sadly, this is becoming very common in the container industry.
Scammers will take real photos from legitimate companies, post them on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, and list containers for prices that seem like a once-in-a-lifetime deal.
Once the money is sent… the listing disappears.
⚠️ Here are a few quick ways to protect yourself:
1️⃣ If the price seems way too cheap — it probably is
Delivery alone can cost hundreds or even thousands depending on distance.
2️⃣ Make sure the company actually exists
Look for a Google business page, website, reviews, or a physical yard.
3️⃣ Talk to a real person
Legitimate companies should have a phone number and someone who answers questions.
4️⃣ Be careful with payment methods
Scammers often request Zelle, CashApp, or crypto only.
5️⃣ Ask questions
A real company will have no problem explaining the process, delivery, and container condition.
