Got barn wood? We do! We were able to salvage these massive hand hewn beams from a barn that is believed to have been built in the early 1900s. The wood was hand hewn and the mortise and tenon construction is on full display. Some of the mortise and tenon pegs that locked the joint in place are still present. These will make awesome mantles, shelves, or whatever you can imagine. Contact us if your are interested in a unique piece crafted from this historical wood!

Need a serving of charcuterie board to add to your home? This walnut charcuterie board was made from the crotch section of a walnut slab giving it incredible character. Finished with food safe to make that wild grain really pop.

Certainly not our first project, but our first live edge table! We cut the slab in two sections and brought the top section down to join to the bottom section. After deciding how we wanted the tabletop to look, we ripped the live edge off of one side of each section and joined the two sections to make one live edge tabletop. We then used dental picks and hand tools to remove any bark or debris in any of the voids. This was a tedious process since this slab had a lot of bug holes in it from the Ambrosia Beetle. Which is great because the bug is what created all of those cool looking gray flame shaped features! We then filled all of the bug holes and the voids with . We used Battleship Grey color in the voids in the knots, let it properly cure and then started the finishing process with sanding. After sanding, we applied . We also used on the metal legs to give us a raw metal look. Check out some more video in our story! Send us a DM if you would like to add a live edge piece to your home.
