**We are getting hit terribly hard by torrential rainfall right now and lots of lightning as you can see in the video from here in Wears Valley.

Today is all about stepping back from our busy lives to appreciate the incredible children who bring so much purpose, laughter, and pride into our world.

We couldn't let today pass without giving a special shout-out to our son.

Seeing him in his firefighting gear, we’re constantly reminded of the remarkable, brave, and compassionate young adult he has become. Watching him follow in our footsteps in the fire service, makes this journey even more extraordinary. Carrying on that legacy of courage, dedication, and serving our community fills our hearts with a level of pride that words can barely capture.

The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northeastern Blount County in east Tennessee...

Northwestern Sevier County in east Tennessee...

* Until 715 PM EDT.

* At 443 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...
Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

At 430 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms 8 miles east of Eagleton Village, or 10 miles east of
Maryville, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...
Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...
Radar indicated.

IMPACT...
Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Townsend, McMahan, Walland, Seymour, and
Wildwood.

It was crazy, busy traffic coming into Pigeon Forge from where this picture was taken near Tanger Outlets.

This is how much flooding we sustained at the store in just 15-20 minutes! Pardon us if the next time you come visit, it smells musty because it has definitely gone under the building this time. It usually takes quite a while for it to even begin to dry out under there. Hopefully there weren’t any rabbits or other animals under there when it happened. That will be even worse to smell, and I can’t stand the smell of a dead animal. Thank goodness for our new candle bar making the whole place smell awesome!

Newport, moving south at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Newport, Parrottsville, Pittman Center, Del Rio, Cosby, and Hartford.

⚡️⚡️⚡️This video shows how much rainfall is coming down. So much has come down that water is splashing up from the road when the cars drive through it which could cause hydroplaning issues. The water seems to be flowing around the back of the store and filling up our drainage ditch. We are definitely having torrential rainfall at the moment.
