This word search is about the atomic ring and the process used to make the ring “light up.” I still can’t believe that this was ever a “thing!” Amazing! Gretchen found this gem. In 1947 Kix Cereal had an atomic bomb ring promotion (yes, after the bombs of WWII)! For 15 cents and one Kix box top you could get this ring. Remove the red cap to reveal a hollow “warhead,” use your spinthariscope lens, look into the ring in a dark room, and see flashes of light. The flashes result when the radioactive Polonium hits the ring’s zinc oxide screen. Safe? Probably not. Harmless? Probably not. Enjoy!
