🍁 My fall tree is back! 🍁

Some of you may remember my earlier post about decorating a tree for fall and sharing about a friend’s fall tree, too. I put one up for two years, then took a break for a few years—but this year, I decided it was time to bring that little bit of autumn joy back into my home!

This time, I used a completely different tree—a slender, flocked tree filled with pumpkins, sunflowers, colorful fall leaves, little scarecrows, and seasonal signs. A tall scarecrow hat tops it all off, and the warm amber lights give it such a cozy glow.

It makes me smile seeing it beside the fireplace, especially in the evening with the lights on. That’s one of my favorite things about decorating: gathering pieces I love and putting them together in a way that feels like home.

And as you can see, Daisy and Maggie have already made themselves comfortable nearby!

📣 A little update from Harmony & Bliss, Crafts & Designs 📣

I’m no longer selling through my booths at US-23 Peddlers Exchange and Timeless Treasures Vendors Mall. I’m very grateful to both owners for giving me the opportunity to share my creations in their shops. Thank you, too, to everyone who visited my booths, purchased something, or encouraged me along the way!

With a busy schedule and a few health issues, I’ve decided to slow down and enjoy crafting at my own pace. I still love creating, and I’ll continue sharing my projects here as I finish them.

I’m getting a separate sales group ready, connected to this business page—a new way to browse and shop my available handmade pieces from the comfort of home! I’ll share the link and begin sending invitations when it’s ready.

As I get everything organized, I’ll share more details about how to claim an item, payment options, and weekday pickup arrangements so you’ll know what to expect.

🍁A Basket Full of Fall 🍁

I made this pumpkin picture last year, and this fall I decided to give it a new home in a basket. My living room has creams and teals, so the teal in the picture ties this little fall display into the room. I tucked in flowers and greenery, then draped a soft throw along the front for a cozy look.

The idea of filling a basket with fall favorites first caught my eye through Wilshire Collections about three years ago. I’ve loved it ever since because you can make it your own with things you already have.

Try a framed picture, a few books, a candle, a little pumpkin, or some greenery. You can tuck in a pillow for height or drape a throw over the edge for softness and texture. Move things around until it feels right to you. Sometimes seeing familiar pieces in a new way is the best part of decorating!

What hole have I been hiding in?

How did I not know about pampas Christmas trees? Who knew they were a “thing”—and that I would fall in love with one!

Apparently, they come in pink, white, cream or ivory, and even black—but I’m definitely a cream-color fan!

I picture mine decorated simply with warm white lights, a soft, flowing bow, and just a few delicate floral picks with little pops of red berries. Nothing harsh or cluttered—just beautiful, simple, and dreamy with that soft, cozy cottage feel I love.

Below is my AI-created version of my dream pampas Christmas tree. Isn’t she pretty? 🤍

Apparently, I’m not the only one who loves these because the cream tree I found is already sold out anywhere remotely close to me! And just like that, I’m officially on the biggest treasure hunt of the year—the search for my dream pampas Christmas tree!

🍂 Have You Ever Decorated a Fall Tree? 🍂

A few years ago, decorating trees for fall was becoming a popular trend, and I absolutely fell in love with the idea!

Instead of using my regular Christmas tree, I bought a smaller tree especially for fall because it fit my space better. I filled it with warm autumn lights, pumpkins, scarecrows, sunflowers, colorful leaves, and touches of black-and-white checks. I enjoyed it so much that I put it up two years in a row, changing the look a little the second year.

There was just something about turning those lights on in the evening that made the entire room feel extra warm and cozy.

After my best friend saw mine that first year, she fell in love with it and wanted a fall tree of her own. So the following year, I went over and helped decorate hers. She had a large, open family room with plenty of space for a bigger, fuller tree. We filled it with sunflowers, rich autumn leaves, rustic signs, scarecrows, and all those beautiful harvest colors—and topped hers with a big scarecrow hat, too! She still puts hers up each year.

Life has been so busy that I haven’t taken the time to put mine up for the past few years—but looking through these pictures has me thinking about bringing it back this year.

The first two photos show my tree from the first year, with the second offering a closer look at some of the decorations. The third shows how I changed it the following year, including adding the big scarecrow hat on top. The final photo is my best friend’s larger fall tree, which we decorated that same second year and topped with a scarecrow hat, too.

A Little Early Gingerbread Christmas Magic!

I know Christmas is still a little ways off, but gingerbread lovers are always ready for something sweet!

This handcrafted oval gingerbread wall décor is approximately 7½” x 11” and features the sweetest little gingerbread baker in her cozy Christmas kitchen. The narrow painted and distressed edging gives it a softly aged, heirloom look. It can be hung on the wall or displayed on a small easel.

🌿 The Story Behind Harmony & Bliss 🌿

Harmony & Bliss, Crafts & Designs began almost by accident—and with a little help from someone special.

It started with a fall pumpkin wood craft that I wanted to make for my own home. I asked my cousin if he could help me bring the idea to life, and he graciously helped me make it and get started. The pumpkin turned out beautifully, and I loved not only the finished piece, but also the process of creating it.

Then, at Christmastime, I made a wooden snowman and realized just how much I truly enjoyed crafting. One project led to another, but I will always be grateful to my cousin for helping me take those first steps. Without his help and encouragement, Harmony & Bliss may never have begun.

Creating soon became more than simply making something pretty. It became almost like therapy for me—a peaceful place where I could slow down, quiet my mind, and lose myself in the creative process. In crafting, I found calm. I found peace. I found harmony and bliss—and that is how the name Harmony & Bliss came to be.

What began with a pumpkin, a snowman, and a helping hand gradually grew into a small business and a way for me to create warm, meaningful pieces for other people’s homes, too.

Each piece is thoughtfully planned and created with lots of time, care, and creativity. From choosing the artwork, colors, and materials to trying different ideas and adding the finishing details, I always want everything I create to be the very best I can make it—and something you’ll be proud to display in your home.

I’m continually learning new crafting skills and techniques through creative learning communities and other educational opportunities. As I learn and grow, I enjoy applying those skills to my work, experimenting with fresh ideas, and finding new ways to improve the quality and character of each piece.

I don’t usually craft in large batches. Instead, I create whatever inspires me at the time. Because of that, many of my pieces are truly one of a kind. Occasionally, I may make a few similar items when an idea especially inspires me, but the handmade details give each one its own special character.

Harmony & Bliss isn’t about mass production. It’s about inspiration, creativity, continued learning, and thoughtfully creating special pieces with heart.
