Lately I’ve been thinking about just how thankful I am for this little flower business and everything that has come with it.
It hasn’t always been easy. There have been weeds that never seem to end, long hot days, early mornings, late nights, failures, mistakes, weather problems, deer problems, and flowers that absolutely did not get the memo about what I had planned for them. 😂 There has been a LOT of learning as I go.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, life kept happening too.
Last year I went through open heart surgery and had to work my way back from that. I’ve continued working my regular job, taking care of my family, keeping up with the farm, and this year I became a grandma — one of the greatest gifts of all. ❤️
Sometimes I wonder how I fit it all in. Some days, I don’t! But I keep going.
Because mixed in with all of those hard days have been some really beautiful ones.
Beautiful flowers. Full buckets. Weddings. Farmers markets. Workshops. New friendships. Returning customers. People trusting me with some of the most important days of their lives.
I’m thankful for every person who buys a bouquet, books me for a wedding, comes to a workshop, shares one of my posts, recommends Chicken Dreams to a friend, or simply stops by and tells me how much they enjoy the flowers.
I’m thankful for this community and for the opportunity to serve the people in it.
And I’m thankful that I took a chance on something I knew very little about and kept learning, growing, failing, trying again, and figuring it out.
Chicken Dreams Flower Farm is still a work in progress.
So am I.
And I think that might be one of the most beautiful parts of it all. 🌸❤️
Thank you for being here and being part of this journey.
