Don't Call it a Comeback! Yet...

Things I've learned since becoming a soapmaker:
1) lye BURNS!
2) Creating recipes brings out my inner Mad Scientist!
3) Cake Batter soap does NOT taste like Cake Batter!
4) Lye Really BURNS!
5) Nature provides some of the best ingredients for taking care of our skin.
6) Enemies can be made over a good bar (aka Oma's Favorite) of soap!
7) No matter how many blends you come up with, there are countless more available!
8) Soap is a great gift, because everyone NEEDS it, and it rarely collects dust.
9) I've met some of the coolest people over a bar of soap.
10) Lye can really ruin your day, if you're not careful with it!
11) Lye is absolutely, 100% required in order to make soap. All soap, any soap! It's what causes the oils/fats/butters to change from their oily state to a salt. Once the change is made, the lye is no longer in the soap, and leaves behind a yummy, skin-loving cleansing agent. :-)
