The N64 had a peripheral that literally clipped onto your ear.

The N64 Bio Sensor was a Japan-only accessory released in 1998 for Tetris 64. It used a small earlobe clip to measure your heart rate!

In Bio Tetris mode, your heart rate could affect the speed and difficulty of the game. As your heart rate went up, the levels would get tougher!

I'm still pretty shocked that this was a real, commercially released N64 accessory.
