We’re excited to announce that Boricuas Unidos de Elgin has been invited to collaborate with Love on the Lawn for a special ALL-DAY community celebration on Saturday, September 5th in Elgin!

This collaboration gives us the opportunity to bring many of the beloved elements of BoricuaFest to the community in a new format—while joining together with one of Elgin’s biggest community events. 🇵🇷🤝🏽❤️

Here’s what you can expect:

🇵🇷 BoricuaFest Food & Artisan Vendors | 11 AM–10 PM
Shop, eat, support local businesses, and enjoy the flavors and culture of our community throughout the full event!

🛝 BoricuaFest KidZone | 11 AM–4PM
Family-friendly cultural activities and inflatable with slide!

🎶 BoricuaFest Entertainment | 11 AM–2 PM
We’ll be kicking off the day with our BoricuaFest entertainment lineup and celebrating our culture through music and performance.

🌟 Love on the Lawn | 2 PM–10 PM
Starting at 2 PM, the celebration continues with the Love on the Lawn entertainment lineup, featuring a special performance by MÝA headlining the evening!

This is more than an event—it’s an opportunity to come together, celebrate our cultures, support our local community, and create something even bigger together.

❤️ Our festival may have been canceled, but our amazing food vendors still need our support.

💙 With Heavy Hearts... BoricuaFest Has Been Canceled 💙

It is with profound disappointment that we announce the cancellation of BoricuaFest due to the forecast of severe and inclement weather.

This was an incredibly difficult decision. For the past seven months, an amazing team of dedicated volunteers has poured countless hours of hard work, passion, and love into bringing BoricuaFest back after a 15-year hiatus. We know how much this event meant to our community, and we share in your sadness.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every volunteer, vendor, sponsor, community partner, and entertainment act who believed in this vision and committed their time, talent, and resources to making BoricuaFest a reality. Your support has been nothing short of extraordinary, and we are deeply grateful.

While this morning’s news is heartbreaking, our commitment to celebrating and preserving Puerto Rican culture remains stronger than ever. This is not the end of BoricuaFest; it is simply a pause.

Please stay tuned as we begin planning an even bigger and better BoricuaFest next year. We look forward to the day we can come together to celebrate our heritage, our culture, and our incredible community - quite possibly sooner than you think!
