On Saturday, I shot one of my fave surprise proposals of all time! I've worked with both Corey and Caitlyn for years now; shooting senior sessions and family sessions with them and their families when I lived in Smyna, TN and, more recently, a college grad session for Corey after he earned his degree at UT, Knoxville.
I was BEYOND excited when Corey reached out to me to as if I would be available to photograph his marriage proposal to Caitlyn. Uhmmm...helllooooooo?! Absofrikinlutely! I quickly rearranged by schedule to make it happen (a big thank you to the clients who agreed to move their shoot to an alternate date!).
When I tell you he planned this proposal down to the tiniest detail, I mean HE PLANNED every tiny detail to perfection. We met the day before the big day to find a perfect location at Lake Shore Park in Knoxville, TN, he coordinated the decor with his and her family members and they drove in from Nashville to set the stage, local friends were brought in to dog watch and pick up food, and I enlisted the help of one of my models, Mikah, who lives in the Knoxville area to pose as a decoy client for a fake photo shoot in the park so I could be in place but incognito.
The big day arrived with massive storms but, thanks to the power of prayer, the skies cleared long enough to bring his vision to life and after a resounding YES from Caitlyn, we congratulated the happy couple an shot a little mini couple session. Sigh....don't you just love...love?!! A little preview from their happy day.....
