January of 2023, we became a part of . We had launched our business less than two years prior and were looking for the perfect place to sell our art in Asheville. We met Robert at a market we decided to sign up for at AB Tech. Nearly instantly after we started unpacking and setting up. Robert said, “ you need to sell your items at - will you stop there on your way home? I’ve got JUST the spot for you, over near the bar. Can you move in at the beginning of January?” we were immediately stoked and stopped at Marquee on our way home and said a very quick yes to becoming a part of the family.

It was a quick turnaround so for our display, we used a gutted piano that had been used as a desk by our family. If you know the , you know how important music is to us, so this display was a perfect reflection of us.

We were floored by the support we received by visitors and customers at Marquee - wow! Fast forward to September of 2024, and we experienced the effects of Hurricane Helene and lost everything in our booth, as did every artist, with water rising to the top of the building. In the aftermath, we were so excited to find a few pieces in the mud - a representation of hope! That desk held many memories. Obviously there was no way to save it, but we did get to see it before it was scooped up in the mud and debris removal.

This last week, after one year, we moved back into this incredible space and family. Our display looks much different, but remains in the same location and stands as a piece of hope the Asheville is back. We are so grateful that Robert and Rebecca had the courage to launch Marquee 2.0 and welcome us all back. What an INCREDIBLE light that shines at this place. It’s special. And if you’ve never been there, put it on your list. Last night was SUCH an encouraging night. Thank you to Marquee and thank you to EVERYONE who has supported our family. We love you! ❤️

The wait is over, Asheville. We are bursting with excitement to officially announce Take II: The Grand Reopening of Marquee! On Thursday, September 25th from 6–9 PM, celebrate Marquee's return to in the River Arts District after being closed for one year following the devastation of Hurricane Helene. We're back and stronger, brighter, and more inspired than ever!

Starting at 6 PM, join us for an opening reflective ceremony followed by a community welcome celebration as we open our doors once again. Spend the evening gathering to recognize all who have made this possible and the resilience and creative spirit of Asheville!

· Live performance art installations
· Cocktails and light bites all night long

Marquee Take II represents both a return to roots and a bold step forward. Visitors will once again find an eclectic mix of design, vintage, and immersive storytelling within our walls, brought to life by local and regional artists, makers, and curators.
