The biggest and smallest dahlias blooming on the farm this week. The contrast in color, form and size is enormous and also one of the great parts about being a designer with a farm.

I plan wedding recipes like any florist. But I inevitably find myself walking the fields looking for a specific shade or stem arch. I have the luxury of passing by saying “no, no, not that one … THAT one.”

It’s what makes my designs unique and often hard to quantify. Because very often, I’m letting nature have a design vote.

It’s a fun surprise for my couples and for me. And makes every wedding one of a kind. 💫

Your venue may already be telling you where the flowers should go.
This ceremony space has a beautiful suspended hoop above the altar, so rather than bringing in another structure, we used what was already there and filled it with flowers and foliage.
The result made the most of something that already gives this venue so much character.
Sometimes the best wedding design starts with noticing what’s already special about the place you’ve chosen.

Unexpected details give your bridal bouquet character.

One thing I love about local flowers are ingredients that aren’t just beautiful, but that bring something interesting to the whole feeling.

An unusual texture. A stem that bends in a funky yet just right way. Something from the garden you might not expect to find in a bridal bouquet.

Those little details are what give flowers personality and make a bouquet feel less like “wedding flowers” and more like it belongs in nature.

A little lesson that the flower fields keep teaching me.
