All good things must come to an end, and so we must bid farewell to our apprentice, Amber Cepec. She is leaving us to study instrument repair at the Red Wing School in Minnesota. During the months she was here, she assisted Mr. Injeian with repairs, and he guided her through the process of making her very first violin, which turned out beautifully. (Here is a video of her playing it.) We wish Amber much success as she proceeds with her studies and launches her new career!

We had a surprise visit today from violinist Randall Goosby, who is the soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony this weekend! He stopped in to play some of Mr. Injeian's violins. It was such a pleasure to hear him play and to spend some time with him.

Congratulations to Hyun Jae Lim of South Korea, the first place winner of the 2026 Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition! Her prize package includes $30,000 cash, a new violin made by Phillip Injeian, a gold-mounted bow made by Vladimir Radosavljevic, an Alexander Plus carbon violin case, and guaranteed engagements, concerts and recitals around the world over the next three years.

There were over 70 applicants for the 2026 EOIVC, but what makes Hyun Jae Lim's victory even more impressive is that she was severely injured and paralyzed in a car accident in 2020. Her long recovery prevented her from resuming her violin training until June 2024, and now, just 18 months later, she took first place in this prestigious international competition! There is no doubt that this young violinist is destined for a great career, and her new Phillip Injeian violin will be right there beside her.
