Hello Adventurers.
Yesterday was the 5th anniversary of my launch of Fortune’s Foundry and I let it quietly slip by as I took time to reflect on peaks and valleys of that time. I’ve had a lot of successes and a lot of challenges. I’ve survived the pandemic. I’ve had reasonable success in managing this endeavour entirely as a side hustle, at first purely as an Etsy shop and more recently with in-person events. Fortune’s Foundry has given me something to focus on during some rough times and has been flexible enough to take a back seat when I’ve needed to focus in other spaces. The end of last year was particularly a bummer for me and not only had me questioning if I should bother to continue, but also made it very hard for me to get excited about doing any of the actual work. So with all of that on my mind, this anniversary seems like the perfect time to take a step back and refocus on the parts that I enjoy.
I’ll be putting my Etsy shop on Vacation Mode for a few weeks while I make some adjustments to my catalog. I plan to refine my scope of products to streamline production and focus on quality. Ultimately this will allow me to keep building fun things, but balance competing priorities.
I am so very thankful to all of the individuals that have supported me thus far and I’m really looking forward to coming back with renewed energy and creativity.
BRB,
Brian
