YOU CAN UKE IS BACK for Make Music Day!!

Ukuleles are the hottest trend in music because ANYONE can play them!
This ***FREE*** class welcomes anyone and everyone who has ever thought of playing the ukulele. People of ages 12+ are welcome to these engaging one hour classes where everyone will be playing along with familiar and popular songs before the hour is up.

The class will be held at Stage 1011 and ukuleles will be supplied for the class by Brighton Music Center. Taught by a licensed music teacher, Mrs. Sue Metelsky, formally from Beaver Area School District. Come join us for a fun and relaxing afternoon of making music!

Student will be exposed to the following skills/concepts: proper hold and strumming; string names; how to read a chord chard; play accompaniments; soloing and reading tablature. This workshop briefly describes each of these topics and allows participants the opportunity to practice and ask questions.

Have you ever been curious about percussion in Western Africa? We have a seminar for you! On Saturday June 13, our teacher Ian will give a single day seminar that is an introduction to the fundamental West African drumming techniques and their cultural significance!

Students will learn basic West African drumming techniques, including hand drumming (bass, tone, slap), stick drumming, and mallet performance on the Dagara gyil. The course also explores the cultural significance of these musical traditions.

🎶 Make Music Day is coming! 🎶

On 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟭, the world turns into one big stage. From sidewalks to parks, anyone and everyone can join in—no tickets, no barriers, just music. It's a free, worldwide celebration of music held every year on June 21 (the summer solstice). On that day, people of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to make music in public spaces—parks, sidewalks, porches, plazas—anywhere, really.

Whether you play an instrument, love to sing, or just want to soak in the vibes, this is your day to celebrate the power of music in your community. 🌍🎤

We will be sharing some of the events that will be happening in our community over the next few weeks, so get excited!!
