In an attempt to get back to my roots, and get some scrollsaw work on my site, I made some wooden tree ornaments that are now available on woodentreasuresct.com.

I actually made these last year, but due to extenuating circumstances, I was unable to get them posted to my site in time for Christmas. I intend to make some more as well, once I get my new workshop a little more set up and organized.

They are all cut from high quality 1/8" thick Baltic Birch craft plywood, giving them good durability. The natural light tone to the wood is also perfect for staining or painting!

The wait is finally over! Lithophanes are now available for purchase on woodentreasuresct.com!

Currently available for purchase are lithophanes designed to hang in a window for natural backlighting from the sun. I plan to offer more styles as time goes on such as night lights, lampshades, and more!

I also plan to offer more 3d print services/items as time goes on. Currently there are only the lithophanes and 1 novelty/gag gift item that have been very popular in person.

Handcrafted and customizable gifts to cherish.

As you all know from my last post, my brother Matthew tragically succumbed to his depression on November 19, 2020. Having lost my mother to cancer at a young age, I have always had a special place in my heart for memorial pieces. Having gotten into 3D printing, and learning of a thing called a lithophane, I decided to 3D print a lithophane lampshade in memorial of my brother, to be given to our father for his birthday. This is the result of that idea.

I originally bought a lamp at Wal-Mart to put the printed shade on, but did not think it was special enough, so decided to hand turn a lamp instead. I figured it would give extra meaning to the lamp as it then is a shade in memorial of one of my father's sons, on a wooden lamp hand turned by another of his sons.

Once I determined that this was what I wanted to do, I remembered that I had some very special wood in my workshop.
The wood used to make the body of this lamp was sourced from a tree that stood ~150 feet from where my brother's cremains are now laid to rest.

The wood specie is unknown.

Lamp base is made from Maple.

The lithophane lampshade was 3D printed using eSUN Cool White PLA+ filament.

Total print time was 3 days, 15 hours, 51 minutes, 6 seconds. (87:51:06 HH:MM:SS)

I was back and forth on posting this here, but after the very positive response from family and friends on my personal page I decided to share this here as well.

My brother succumbed to his depression 11/19/2020, and I made this for myself. Below is the post I put to my own page, and as always, rotational video in comments:

Now I can truly keep Matthew with me always. This keychain contains 1 gram of his cremains permanently sealed inside.

Color basis:
Black Diamondcast body
Gold hardware

Black for his death, real diamond chips embedded, diamond being his birthstone.

Gold, because he truly was the gold standard when it came to trucking.
