Cindelle’s Bookstore is an online bookstore centered around, but not limited to, Black voices and Black novels and Black culture. As if online bookstores and mainstream book outlets are not enough, Cindelle’s Bookstore provides a platform for millennial authors and their books during a significant time for Black art and culture. Based in Plainfield, NJ, this online bookstore launches a bigger project: a brick & mortar bookstore cafe located in Plainfield, NJ where people will enjoy books, food, merchandise, at a local bookstore. Cindelle Harris, M.A., the owner of Cindelle’s bookstore, is an English teacher and a Composition professor who envisioned owning a bookstore in her community that will provide a space for community, knowledge, and unity amongst the local readers.

Last night, on the official night of midsummer, we sat down with four romance authors to talk about something that sometimes feels like a dream: Black Romance. ❤️✍🏾

We got to hear all four independent authors read excerpts from their books, discuss the state of Black romance in the industry, and experience community love. Such an amazing night! Thank you to the Fellowship of the Griots for hosting this incredible event, and thank you to authors Al-Lateef Farmer, Latoya Dobson, Scarlet Ibis James, and Queen T for your time and your voices. What a night!
