The Beauty of a Pavé Arrangement

One of my favorite floral techniques is the pavé arrangement. Inspired by the French word pavé, meaning "paved," this style is created by placing each bloom closely together so the flowers form a smooth, continuous surface..almost like a carpet of petals.

The beauty of pavé design is in its precision. Every stem is intentionally placed at the same height, allowing the blooms to become the focal point rather than the stems or foliage. The result is a sophisticated, modern arrangement that feels both luxurious and timeless.

This design features deep crimson roses nestled into a vintage silver compote, proving that sometimes a single variety of flower, thoughtfully arranged, creates the greatest impact.

Floral design isn't just about flowers..it's about texture, balance, and artistry. A pavé arrangement is a perfect example of how simplicity, when executed with intention, becomes extraordinary.

Life has a way of testing us when we least expect it. But it also has a way of revealing the kindness of friends, the support of family, the dedication of healthcare professionals, and the strength we didn't realize we possessed.

Sometimes progress isn't measured in giant leaps. Sometimes it's simply getting out of bed, taking the next step, and believing better days are coming.
Keep going. Even when the path feels difficult, healing, hope, and brighter days are often closer than they appear.

From bunches of blooms to finished centerpieces 🌸✨

There’s something so rewarding about watching a design come to life piece by piece. Today’s palette was layered with soft blush pinks, vibrant hot pink roses, fluffy white hydrangea, delicate dianthus, lisianthus, and tropical touches for just the right amount of drama and texture.

The “behind the scenes” process is never glamorous — flower clippings everywhere, tools scattered across the table, and long hours on your feet — but this is where the magic happens. Every stem is placed with intention to create movement, balance, and beauty.

I always love seeing how individual flowers transform into a finished arrangement that feels elegant, joyful, and full of life. 💕

Design days may be messy… but the results make my heart happy every single time.

What an absolute joy it was to serve as a judge for the Allen High School Floral Competition

I was truly blown away by the level of talent, creativity, and intention these students brought to their designs. Each arrangement told a story, thoughtfully composed, beautifully executed, and full of personality. You could feel the practice, patience, and passion behind every single piece.

To the students: your work is something to be incredibly proud of. The future of floral design is in very good hands

And a very special recognition to Meredith; your teaching is clearly making an impact. The confidence, technique, and artistry these students displayed is a direct reflection of your dedication and ability to inspire. What a gift you are to them.

Grateful to have had a front-row seat to such creativity and heart.
