I am going to give all of you an educational bit of info because I’ve had so many customers complain about their “silver” jewelry lately….That they’ve bought elsewhere. When you get wrapped up in a new jewelry fad or trend, retailers advertising silver or gold bracelets or necklaces, etc., plus charms for $50-$100-ish…what you are buying is silver or gold PLATED COPPER OR BRASS.Basically worth zero because plating will ALWAYS wear off. I don’t do “name brands” because they aren’t worth a dime. Other than Pandora. But even with pandora, you are paying for the name. My charms actually cost more than pandora. Just a sidebar. Many times I can get actual solid silver or gold in the same design of these trends. And it will last forever. If you want to dump your money down the drain into their branding, have at it. But to me, who knows about these precious metals, a copywrited brand usually means nothing more than cheap jewelry worth nothing. Like costume. I have had so many folks complaining about their jewelry they have bought lately from a fad that looks like crap after 3-6 months. They say it turned and then turned them green or black. That’s because it isn’t solid silver. Solid .925 Silver WILL tarnish if you don’t wear it…so keep it in a ziplock airtight bag in the dark. But it should not turn your skin. And it can ALWAYS be cleaned and it will look like new. You cannot EVER clean a piece of plated jewelry to look like new. There are some folks who just can’t wear precious metals because of their body chemistry. That’s when you go to stainless steel. But I have only had two customers in that boat since 2009. If you think silver “turns” come to me and bring your jewelry. Don’t waste your money when you can get the real thing from me for a little more, if that. If money is no object, then by all means, buy the cheap worthless stuff. Remember, fads go away. Real jewelry is timeless. I can guarantee my silver is real…I cannot guarantee stones will always stay in your piece…that is determined by how rough the customer may be on their jewelry.
