Refinished set of “Dogbone” or “Wishbone” style dining chairs similar to those manufactured by Heywood Wakefield - 1 side/ armchair and 4 regular dining chairs. No makers mark but estimated to be manufactured in the 1950’s or 60’s.

This set was previously owned by Local Ukrainian artist Dmytro Szylak, who created “Hamtramck Disneyland,” still operational today.

Chairs are Solid wood. Chair backs are highly sought after quarter sawn white oak. Frame/arms/legs are solid oak. Newly covered in a neutral, period appropriate tweed, and protected with scotch guard.

Heywood Wakefield manufactured this dining set in April 1956; the table and chairs are date stamped and have a makers’ mark on the underside. The table features the Paul McCobb “butterfly” wing design, and is highly sought after amongst collectors.

The table is paired with 4 “dogbone” style dining chairs of the same manufacturer. The chairs have been recovered in durable forest green velvet with extra padding. The darker color will hide accidental spills and the fabric is easy to clean. All chairs are solid, level, stable, usable, and functional.

The five piece dining set is made of solid high-grade Northern Yellow Birch.

The MCM dining cabinet/hutch is made of solid maple and was released for sale by Temple Stuart in the 1950’s. It is two pieces (top and bottom, convenient for transport). It features solid wood hardware, three upper shelves, a drawer, and two interior shelves inside the lower cabinet portion. It is also in beautiful condition. Although this cabinet is of a different designer, many people mistake it for Heywood Wakefield because of its similar aesthetic, and it matches the table and chairs perfectly.

All six pieces have been fully refinished.

Update your dining space with this retro set of four Midcentury dining chairs by Stanley, similar to the Heywood Wakefield “dog bone” design. These have freshly recovered seats in understated micro-chevron grey tweed - super durable and easy to care for. Took the wood tone from blonde to a darker walnut tone. A little BEFORE / AFTER action for you 👀
I picked this table up almost a year ago, at an estate sale, but only got to her a few weeks ago because of other projects. She was badly neglected, not the least of which was the veneer - which was warped beyond repair, and lifting all the way around. With a little love she’s shining again, and ready for her at your home!

The base of this beauty was stripped, sanded, and finished in grey wash, black glaze, and lavender scented clear wax.
The top was too pretty to cover up - clear wax only. ♥️
