🍁☎️🚒🚀 More Memories Made in Beautiful New Hampshire! 🍁

Our Dashers had such a fun time exploring the New Hampshire Telephone Museum, and what a trip down memory lane it was! ☎️❤️

This unique museum is filled with telephone history—from some of the earliest equipment and switchboards to phones through the decades, memorabilia and even some fun novelty pieces. It was especially meaningful for several of our Dashers who had actually worked in the telephone industry. There were plenty of moments of, “I remember that!” and lots of stories about the phones and equipment they used growing up and throughout their careers.

Of course, you can’t talk about telephone history without going back to Alexander Graham Bell. In 1876, Bell spoke those famous words to his assistant through his experimental telephone:

“Mr. Watson, come here, I want you.” ☎️

Sometimes a museum becomes so much more interesting when the people traveling with you have actually lived a piece of the history you’re looking at—and that certainly happened here!

🚒 While there, we also had the opportunity to visit the Warner Firefighter Museum, located right there with the Telephone Museum. This was another special stop because several of our Dashers either have family members who served in the fire department or have their own history with the fire service.

It was so much fun watching them explore the exhibits, reminisce and share their own stories. Those personal connections are what make stops like these so memorable.

🍽️ From there, we headed to The Common Man for a wonderful gourmet dinner—and this one was definitely a hit! Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal together after another full day of exploring New Hampshire.

But our driver, Diane, had one more special stop for us! 🚀

She took us to see the replica of Freedom 7, honoring New Hampshire native Alan Shepard, who became the first American in space when he flew aboard Mercury-Redstone 3 in 1961. What a fun little bonus to end our day!

Then it was back to the hotel for a good night’s rest because the next morning we were headed to…

🇺🇸 BOSTON! 🇺🇸

Our time in Boston was brief, but we certainly made the most of it! We stopped at historic Quincy Market, where our Dashers had time to explore and choose their favorite spot for lunch before we continued our journey back toward Indiana.

Quincy Market dates back to the 1820s and sits alongside historic Faneuil Hall in an area that has been part of Boston’s commercial and civic life for generations. Today, it’s filled with food vendors, shops and plenty of that unmistakable Boston atmosphere. And you simply can’t visit Boston without being reminded that you are surrounded by some of the most important places and stories in early American history. 🇺🇸

Our stop in Boston may have been short, but it was a fun way to put the finishing touch on an absolutely incredible week.

🍂 And what a week it has been! 🍂

We honestly could not have asked for better weather. The fall colors were absolutely spectacular, the scenery was breathtaking, and everywhere we went seemed prettier than the place before it.

But as beautiful as New Hampshire was, the people you travel with are what truly make a trip special. 💚💙

We laughed, explored, learned, ate some wonderful food, shared stories, made new friendships and created memories together all week long. We truly could not have asked for a better group of Dashers.

Now we’re making our way back home to Indiana with lots of pictures, plenty of stories and some wonderful new memories. 🚌🍁

Our Dashers had such a wonderful morning cruising beautiful Lake Sunapee! 🍁⛴️ For a couple of relaxing hours, we took in the absolutely spectacular fall colors and admired the gorgeous homes tucked along the shoreline.

As we cruised, our captain narrated the journey, sharing fascinating stories about Lake Sunapee, its history, and some of the famous people who grew up in the area or have called the lake home over the years. The scenery could not have been more beautiful—the brilliant New England fall colors reflecting off the water were simply stunning!🍂

After our cruise, everyone got to choose their favorite lakeside spot for lunch, followed by a little souvenir shopping around town. And, of course, no Dash Getaways afternoon would be complete without ice cream for dessert! 🍦

FROM ONE PLYMOUTH TO ANOTHER! 🍁🚌

When Dash Getaways Travel Tours & Gift Shoppe calls Plymouth, Indiana home, you know we couldn’t travel through Plymouth, New Hampshire without stopping for a picture! 📸

On our way back from dinner, Diane was nice enough to stop the motorcoach so Lana could hop out and grab the photo—while, of course, looking both ways for moose! 🫎😂 You never know in New Hampshire!

The sign immediately caught our attention: Plymouth, New Hampshire — Established 1763, a full 73 years before Plymouth, Indiana was established in 1836!

Plymouth, New Hampshire dates all the way back to the colonial era, 13 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Indiana wouldn’t even become a state until 1816, with our Plymouth beginning its story two decades later.

There’s something pretty special about traveling hundreds of miles from home and finding another Plymouth along the way.

🍁🍂 NEW HAMPSHIRE AT PEAK! 🍂🍁

We truly could not have asked for better timing! Our Dashers have been so fortunate—the weather has been absolutely perfect, and the fall foliage is AT PEAK! 😍🍁

The beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire are covered in brilliant shades of red, orange, gold, and yellow. Everywhere we turn looks like a postcard! 🏔️🍂

There is just something magical about New England in the fall, and getting to experience it together makes it even more special. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous weather, lots of laughter, and memories being made along the way. ❤️

We are definitely filling up our Dash here in beautiful New Hampshire!

🍁 Our Dashers Are Officially Enjoying Beautiful New Hampshire! 🍁

Our New Hampshire adventure actually started before we even arrived! 🚌💙💚

En route to New Hampshire, we made the journey part of the fun with stops at some of our favorite travel plazas along the way. And, of course, no Dash road trip would be complete without a stop at Cracker Barrel! 😊

Because we were ahead of schedule, Lana added a fun, unexpected stop at 🍎 MACK Apples — also known as Moose Hill Orchards — has roots stretching back to 1732, when John Mack arrived in Londonderry, New Hampshire, from Londonderry, Ireland, with his wife, Isabella Brown. The area was then known as Nutfield, and the land included property associated with Matthew Thornton, who would later become one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The Mack family settled the land, raising crops and livestock and eventually planting apple trees — beginning an agricultural tradition that has continued for nearly 300 years. Today, MACK Apples is considered New Hampshire’s oldest family-run farm and one of the state’s largest orchards. It’s a wonderful piece of living New Hampshire history and a beautiful place to experience a true New England fall. 🍎🍂🇺🇸 o

We also enjoyed a prepaid group meal at Applebee’s, which was a big hit with our Dashers.

We’re staying at the Hampton Inn, and our Dashers are loving the accommodations! Each morning begins with a delicious hot breakfast before we head out for another full day of exploring.

🏰 Today’s first adventure was Castle in the Clouds!

Perched high above Lake Winnipesaukee, this beautiful mountaintop estate was built in 1913–1914 for shoe-manufacturing millionaire Thomas Gustave Plant and his wife, Olive. Originally known as Lucknow, the Arts and Crafts-style mansion was remarkably innovative for its time and included many modern conveniences.

Castle in the Clouds is a beautiful historic estate where visitors can step back in time while taking in spectacular views of the lakes and mountains of New Hampshire. And those views certainly did not disappoint! 🏰🍁

🛍️ Next stop — beautiful downtown Wolfeboro!

Our Dashers enjoyed shopping and lunch in the charming lakeside town of Wolfeboro, nestled along the shores of beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. Several Dashers treated themselves to lobster rolls, delicious ice cream, and plenty of other goodies. 🦞🍦

🇺🇸 Then it was on to the Wright Museum of World War II.

The Wright Museum offers a fascinating look at America during the World War II era, telling the story not only of those who served but also of life on the American home front. Its collections of military vehicles, uniforms, photographs, posters, and everyday artifacts help bring this important period of history to life.

🍽️ We finished our day with dinner at The Camp in Meredith, New Hampshire, before climbing back aboard our motorcoach.

Mother Nature has been treating us wonderfully, too. 🍁☀️ The weather is looking great for the days ahead, and tonight we’re enjoying a beautiful New England sunset against the beautiful fall leaves as we make our way back to the hotel.

🚌🍁 AND WE ARE OFF… TO NEW HAMPSHIRE! 🍁🚌

Our Dashers are on the road and headed to the beautiful Granite State — New Hampshire! 🏔️🍂

Did you know New Hampshire is nicknamed “The Granite State” because of its extensive granite formations and historic granite quarries? It’s also home to the breathtaking White Mountains, some of the most spectacular scenery in New England — and we’re going to be right in the middle of it! 😍

We have a FUN week ahead filled with beautiful fall scenery, charming New England towns, history and plenty of fun Dash Getaways adventures along the way!

New Hampshire… here come the Dashers! 🦦💚💙
