I took time off of teaching lessons in August to get caught up on instrument repairs followed by a family vacation and a weekend motorcycle trip before school started. In September I hit the ground running working on the exterior of our building. After almost 10 years it was time for a complete painting, some tuckpointing, and making a new hanging sign. Like all projects, it got bigger as I started poking around but other than waiting on a new door and two large windows to get installed, it’s all finished! I’m finally back in the shop working on instruments again.

I just finished a build for a very special student. I know we're not supposed to have favorites, but thanks mom! This was my first time building an OM size guitar and my first attempt at a hand rubbed semi-gloss finish. Even through I should have taken the time to run some finish tests beforehand, I learned a few
things along the way. For you spec nerds out there, “MOM OM” has Indian Rosewood back and sides, a Torrefied Spruce top with forward-shifted X bracing, Waverly tuning machines with ebony buttons, ebony
fingerboard and bridge.....yada yada
