Serendipity struck yesterday on my way back to Plymouth from Indianapolis. Since rush hour traffic had set in, and it’s the season for construction, I decided to take I-65 northwest and then work my way back east.

GPS took me through Frankfort in Clinton County. It was time for a rest stop, so I looked for the library, always one of my favorite places to visit when I travel. Upon first glance, the structure in the picturesque setting looked newer to me from the parking lot across the street. Was I surprised when I saw the cornerstone said 1998! It was almost 40 years old!

With a building that old, it wasn’t surprising that the ladies room on the first floor was out of order. So I followed the sign’s directions and set up the stairs. After I reached the top step and turned the corner, down the hall I saw a quilt! Why is a beautiful quilt hanging in the library? Well, it’s inviting one to visit the Frankfort Quilt Guild’s Quilt Show!

Think of how much serendipity was involved in getting me there. They must have just finished hanging the quilts because they are on display Sept. 16-30, and I was there Sept 15. Serendipity.
