Major update on my sister’s family who had their moving truck stolen while moving bases! The Kansas City police located the truck way back in the woods by a new apartment complex. They got the location from Penske who we now know has had the location the whole time. That is a massive frustration to discuss another time..
For now, we are all thanking God that a lot of irreplaceable items were found! As you can tell from the photos, everything was trashed by the thieves but family photos, a few of our dads items, Robert’s uniforms and army awards, and much more was left behind. Penske had a team load everything back in to the truck then had a heavy duty tow truck come pull the truck from the woods. Now begins the pain staking process of going through everything, piece by piece out of the pile of destruction to see what can be saved. Unfortunately not only had it rained a few times where the truck was left but it was also completely covered in deer ticks and bugs. Most items left behind (furniture, beds, TVs) are still a total loss, as well as many, many items that were taken. At the moment they are hoping they can save some of the clothes and other household items but due to the condition it’s up in the air.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and support over the last 11 days. All donations are still helping them greatly! So much is gone and now that they have to sift through, dry then clean the dirt and tick infestation on everything before they can give a final list to the insurance it’s going to take much longer than it already was. Immediate purchases will still be beds, dishes, cleaning supplies, etc.
To my amazing customers, I took a little break from working and taking orders but I am getting back to it!! Between some whatnot shows, a local event, transitioning from the school routine to summer, my three wild little boys, the towboat hubs, and this nightmare, this monster truck mama needed some R&R. But stay tuned! I will be opening up orders very soon!!🤍🏁
