It's Saturday, the most delicious day of the weekend at the mercantile. 😊

If you're looking for cool summer treats, we suggest chocolate cream horns, cannolis, chilled carrot cakes, and chocolate mousse cakes......and all are perfect for sharing.
Foccocias, sourdoughs, and half loaves of 7 grain, cinnamon raisin, and cranberry walnut are on the rack and there's a few bags of fresh croissants which pair perfectly with chicken salad, jams, and pretty much everything else. 🥐

Now that the weather is heating up you'll want to have plenty of soaps on hand to keep you fresh and New Direction has a wonderful variety on hand. You'll want to check out their whipped tallow products while you're here, too. 🐐

And Sue has new primitive inspired pieces including a few wreaths and a handsome Uncle Sam with an eagle......too adorable. 🇺🇸 🦅

It's already June and it's two things Tuesday. 🙃

First, Robyn Hargan made a wonderful 2x2 barn quilt commemorating the country's 250th anniversary and we're giving it away on June 28th so the winner will have plenty of time to get it up and ready for the 4th of July. It's easy to enter the drawing, just write your name and phone number on the back of your receipt and drop it in the jar at the counter.....that's it. With the drawing being a few weeks away you'll want be sure to enter every time you stop in. 🇺🇸

And secondly, Friday is National Donut Day so we will be joining the fun and giving away a glaze donut to every customer while supplies last. Who doesn't like free donuts? 😊

In other news, the patriotic flags have been such a hit we've almost sold out. Rest assured there's an order on the way with a few new styles added, too.
Speaking of patriotic, Sue's primitive Uncle Sam pieces are too adorable to put away and should be left out all of the time. Add a few Easter eggs, pumpkins, or a Christmas tree to keep them festive year round. 😁

And here's a reminder that carrot cakes, macarons, chocolate mousse cakes, cannolis, and cake pops are available on Fridays now throughout the summer.....start your weekend snacking early.

It's Sunday.....and the cases are filled once again. If you're wondering how we're always fresh and full, the secret is having five bakery deliveries every weekend.......and that's a lot of deliciousness. 😁

Coffee cakes, gooey butters, and angel food cakes are perfect for Sunday visits and there's plenty of all this morning.
Danish, cannolis, donuts, macarons and so much more makes a sweet ending to the weekend or a delightful start to the week ahead. 😉

Mac & Beans locally roasted coffee is in stocked and we've added Yoder's noodles to the soup & pasta section. (Don is the only person I know who doesn't like pasta. 🙃)

There's a nice variety Rabbit Creek Gourmet cookie, dessert breads, and scone mixes that are perfect summer treats and pairing them with a cookie cutter will add a little fun to the snack. Speaking of snacks, our old shopping cart/snack cart has a few new additions, too. 😊

And I had mentioned to Robyn Hargan that I would like a barn quilt commemorating the country's 250th to give away 4th of July weekend and she dropped it off yesterday.........I love it! ❤️

It's Saturday, the most delicious day of the weekend. 😊

There's so much to choose from today.....cannolis, carrot cakes, brownie, croughnuts, cake pops, macarons, cream horns, giant cinnamon rolls and more means there's definitely something for everyone. 😉

On the mercantile side Sue just keeps making the most adorable primitive inspired pieces but you'll have to wait to see the eagle she's added......he sold in less than five minutes. Rest assured a convocation (that's what Google said to call them) will be available soon. 🦅

It's officially sipping season, that's sipping something on the porch or patio, and the soda wall is stocked and ready. We're also having a June special on the 2 ounce bags of Ronocco Coffee, regularly $3 each now 3/$5.....you may find a new favorite in the one pot sized bags.

And our flower season is over but if you're looking for great plants and yard accents visit Maryville Feed & Home-Garden Center, Pet & Gift Store in Maryville......and you'll likely see Ezra working there on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The last few days of May are coming fast and it's two things Tuesday. 😊

First, we are happy to add another book to the mercantile by local authors Simon Lugge and his wife Chrissy. They have written a sweet children's book titled "Norman, At Your Service" and it shares the story of Norman's first day as a service dog. You'll enjoy the story, illustrations, and most importantly the lesson learned. The hardback book is $18.99 and you can bundle it with a plush Norman for just $44.99. Learn more about Norman and his job in the photos and you'll love him so much you'll want more stories......which are in the works we're told. 😉

And secondly, Thursday marks the 11th anniversary of our opening Pocahontas Antiques.....and we never could have imagined that leaky old building would change our lives so much. We needed it, it needed us, and the rest is history. The building itself turns 100 years old this year having originally opened in 1926 as Kirstein Chevrolet. It was also a service station before the Nance's made it an antique mall and I'm sure there's even more great stories we haven't heard yet about the building and feel free to share them with us......we'll jot them down and add them to the collection. 😏

In other news, with the addition of the refrigerated case we will have carrot cakes, mousse cakes, cannolis, cake pops, macarons, and cream horns available every Friday through summer not just Saturday & Sunday......that's three days to get your favorite treats. 😁
And lastly, village wide yardsales are this weekend and I'll post the map as soon and I see it.

So to recap:
🔸️️ Pick up "Norman, At Your Service" this weekend and it's sure to become a family favorite.
🔹️We hope to have a meet & greet with the Norman, Simon, and Chrissy sometime this summer.....stay tuned.
🔸️Don and Simon's dad Don Lugge worked together at Schnucks 20 years ago and he was the only person we knew in Pocahontas when we opened the antique mall.
🥰 We immediately met a lot of great people.
🔹️Eleven years have gone by so quickly........
❤️ Half of the vendors at the mall have been with us since 2015.
🔸️️️The refrigerated case will be bursting every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from now on.
🔹️️Village wide yardsales this Friday & Saturday.

It's Sunday, and today's water tower photo includes the Veterans Memorial & flags on the square where tomorrow you'll want to attend the annual Memorial Day Service at 11am.....you'll be happy you did. 🇺🇸❤️

The cases are full and everything is stacked high today. Cakes, PeConnie's, Amish chocolates & candies, popcorns, mustards, and more to make your get togethers a little more delicious.

Fresh PeConnie's have arrived, there's wonderful patriotic tshirts, flags, books, dishcloths, scrubbies in red, white, & blue, and Sue has plenty of primitive inspired pieces in a variety of fun styles and sizes.

And we have to give a big shout out to Tim at Wood Bakery because yesterday at 4pm I realized I forgot to send an order for today.......how can you even have a Friday without donuts??? After a long evening of "okay, maybe we can do this instead" the delivery driver arrived and there was our order.....what a relief. Tim said he always keeps a list on stand by just incase this would ever happen. Crisis averted and Tim saved the day. 🥰

Everyone is open for shopping and dining and we'll have regular hours all weekend except we're closing at 4:30 today.....but only today.
