Please join us for this special talk with Charlie, one of our long-time Gallery members, as he shares about his beautiful artistry and skills of creating gorgeous wooden bowls.

ABOUT CHARLIE......
•Trade name: Woodsman of the Rockies
• Artistic media: The acceptance of wooden bowls as an art form
• Formal Training: "Furniture design and construction", 16 credit hours, Red Rock Community College; collaborative concept exchange; untold reflection of success and failure

Charlie's talk will cover history of bowls in society in terms of functional use and the challenge of acceptance as an art form. Discussion will further cover the role of planning and design, artistic balance of form and color, construction and machining, and finishing and presentation. The discussion will briefly cover bowls making from solid wood but focus on using many pieces of wood to make a bowl. The program will include visual examples of segmented wooden bowls.
