I love AI.

I use it daily.
Pretending it doesn’t exist would be foolish.

But here’s what I’ve learned after actually using it inside my business:

As much as it sound like amazing relief as a solopreneur who’s been working alone for years 👋…

AI is just a tool.
Not a strategist.
Not a creative director.
Not your CEO.
Not a biz friend.

It can help you:
✔ Refine ideas
✔ Draft faster
✔ Tackle admin tasks
✔ Answer black and white tech questions

But it can’t:
✖ Replace your taste
✖ Replace your intuition
✖ Replace lived experience
✖ Create something truly new without you steering it

I failed at freelancing.

Not because I wasn’t talented.
Not because I didn’t work hard.
But because I treated myself like an employee instead of a business owner.

For 8 years, I said yes to everything.
Low rates. Endless revisions. No systems. No boundaries.
I thought being “responsible” meant doing it all myself.

It led to burnout, resentment, and late night crying (lots of crying) 😭

But freelancing taught me something I use every single day now:

If I were using our White Linen Collection to rebrand, what would I start with? Where SHOULD you start?

It’s easiest to start with the brand board if you don’t have colors and a logo yet at all. Already got all that? Skip it and head straight for your website, the hub for all things you.

Once that’s done, its most important to get those emails flowing again and on brand, so when people click over to your new site, they don’t think they landed on a completely different brand.

Then migrate your new brand over to social and start posting with touches from your new look.

Print out the goodies you’ll need for in person work or order packing next.

New ideas for what you need will pop up as you go, don’t wreck yourself trying to get everything perfect before launching or relaunching, sometimes (ok all the time) done and existing is better than perfect and not even out there. And thats message for me, too. 😅

Your website doesn’t need to be perfect ✨to be a sales machine.

But it does need to feel finished.✅

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen small details quietly cost someone sales:

😬 demo social links still live (and going to our website)
😬 fonts that don’t match the template
😬 mobile never checked and looking yikes
😬 policies half edited, left with demo text or (gasp) nonexistent
😬 miles long text paragraphs no one will read (right on the home page banner)

None of these feel dramatic.

But together?
They shift how trustworthy your brand feels.

And yes, sometimes that small shift is the difference between viewers hitting the back button and hundreds more in revenue. 🤯
