We’ve all seen them. Those chaotic, hyper detailed AI poster ads completely taking over our feeds lately. 🫠

And honestly? I completely get the appeal. If you aren’t a designer and don’t want to drop thousands of dollars on a custom rebrand, the idea of typing a prompt and getting a free, instant ad feels like a total cheat code.

“Hell yes, this is the ticket,” right?

But here is the harsh reality: consumers are smart, and they are absolutely roasting these ads in the comments. 😬

When your audience sees a low effort, AI generated graphic, the focus shifts away from your amazing services and straight to the fact that you took a shortcut. It accidentally hurts your reputation because people immediately start wondering: “If they won’t even put effort into their own brand, how good can their services actually be?”

Getting dragged in your own comment section? Definitely not the vibe.

The good news is you don’t have to choose between “slop” and a 5k designer package. The perfect middle ground is high quality templates. You don’t always need to burn your brand to the ground. Sometimes, you just need a face lift. 📉

When my sales dipped last year, I looked at my shop with fresh eyes and literally gasped. The platforms had shifted to portrait dimensions, and my old graphics were getting awkwardly cropped into a sea of blank white space. What are we selling here, a blank white block? 🤦🏻‍♀️

The hard truth? My products were still great, but my packaging was actively repelling buyers. Good digital products look incredibly cheap if your visual real estate is stuck in 2021. Guillllty.

If you are feeling bored with your branding or noticing a dip in engagement, here is the secret to upgrading your visuals without ruining the brand recognition you’ve worked so hard to build:

    ✅ Keep the core identity: Don’t throw away your signature colors or logo just because you have fatigue.

    ✅ Update the ex*****on: Shift your focus to modernizing your layouts. Update your aspect ratios for how apps actually display content today (like utilizing full portrait dimensions).

    ✅ Elevate for today’s vibes: Introduce strategic negative space and observe today’s trends, driven by AI, iOS round modern vibes, more color, etc.

I didn’t throw my business away, I just jumped into Canva and elevated the presentation to match the actual quality of what I was selling. The difference is night and day. Products are selling again that no one’s looked at in years.

I thought I had to sound like a Fortune 500 company to charge premium prices. 🤡

When I started my first freelance business, I scrubbed my website of anything that felt “too me.” I hid my face. I used stiff, boring corporate jargon. I even took down a blog that people actually loved because some industry “expert” told me it wasn’t professional enough.

“My website feels super childish and half done.” 💔

When a customer sent me this message, I wanted to reach through the screen and give her a hug. Because I know exactly what that phase feels like.

You’ve outgrown your starter site (or haven’t even really finished that yet!), but you’re terrified of the time it will take to build a new one. So you do nothing. You stay embarrassed. You stop pitching big clients because you don’t want them to look at your homepage and write you off immediately.

Before you empty your fun money fund on a website you’re not sure will get your more clients, there’s another option. Website templates based on actual builds I’d have charged $5k for.
