Ponchatoula is our home!

As many of you know, our well loved shop has had setbacks due no fault of our own. This entire year has been hard, to say the least. But specifically the last 2 months. In April, we received news we had to close the door to our Pine Street location. The tears, sweat, and literal blood that was put into that place can never be gotten back. We are so blessed for the love of everyone who came, supported us, and made us the success WE ARE today. Then the packing up and moving of TWO stores! Mark at Berries Storage has been an absolute blessing. Then, on to trying to find a new place. THAT came with some hard, big lessons we learned as a business! Nonetheless, the first place we checked out was not the last, but it was the one we chose to make our new home. Although it might be smaller, it’s our heart and passion that we have packed into this place and it will be what keeps yall coming to see us. And maybe a little bit because of our talent. 😜 Our shop will continue to succeed.

In all of our changes, it made us realize we need a brand. Something to really represent us, something that represents PONCHATOULA. Ponchatoula is a Choctaw term meaning “hanging hair.” James Clark, a railroad surveyor, named it Ponchatoula because of the abundance of Spanish Moss trees. It became a hot spot with him able to sell spots and land fast. But after some time, federal troops came in and destroyed a lot, including our train depot, during the Civil War. Although, VERY different, this is another sign. We may have lost our beautiful building, but we did NOT lose our namesake, our town, OR our heart for this business. We are so beyond excited to begin the next chapter of Vintage 985.

I hope you have stayed through and read this whole message that we wrote from the heart, not written by ChatGPT. Because we are real, LOCAL vendors. We hope you love our new brand with our same amazing vendors! But we hope you love our new shop even more.

Please come attend our soft opening Wednesday 6/17 4p-7p, ALL are welcome! And we will be opening back up full business hours Thursday at 11am. Grand Re-Opening Info to follow. 114 N. E. Railroad Ave. Ponchatoula, LA 70454

I'm thinking of pulling out my recipes for my season blends I created a few years back. Who would be interested in seasonings with no additives ?
