The biggest red flag on your milkweed. 🚩

A perfect looking milkweed is not always a good sign. Aphids, which are tiny sap sucking insects, are actually part of a healthy milkweed ecosystem. They provide food for ladybugs, lacewings, and other beneficial insects that help keep your garden in balance. πŸžπŸ›

If you're not seeing any aphids at all, it could be a sign that pesticides have been used nearby, although that is not always the reason. Sometimes it's simply timing, the weather, or your plant is still getting established. A few aphids on milkweed usually are not something to worry about.

What do you look for when you're picking out plants at the nursery? Save this video for the next time you're shopping for milkweed. 😊🌿

Gaura is officially popping right now. 🌿✨

The blooms are putting on a show in this video, and this is exactly why gaura is one of my favorite plants to add to a landscape. The delicate blooms seem to float above the foliage, creating so much movement and giving the whole garden a softer, more natural feel.

Here in Zone 9a, gaura is a beautiful way to add texture and long lasting blooms without overwhelming the rest of your landscape. 🌸 Save this video for the next time you are looking for a plant that brings life and movement to your yard.

What plant in your landscape puts on the biggest show when it starts blooming? 🌿

Don't overlook this native plant. 🌼✨

As one of Florida's most recognizable native plants and the official state wildflower, Coreopsis thrives right here in our Zone 9A landscapes. It brings bright, cheerful color while supporting local pollinators, asks for very little once established, and keeps your landscape looking vibrant through the season. 🌿🐝

If you're looking for a way to add long lasting color without constantly replacing plants, this is one worth considering. Save this video for your next landscape refresh, and tell me, what is your favorite Florida native plant? 😊🌱

Want to make more friends? Your garden can help. πŸ¦‹βœ¨

It's International Day of Friendship, and there's no better time to celebrate the friendships that keep our gardens thriving. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators all have their favorite gathering spots, and Pentas, Portulaca, and Lantana are at the top of the list. 🐝🌿

If you want a landscape that's full of movement and life, these are three plants worth adding. Save this video for your next nursery trip, and let nature do the networking. 🌼😊

Wait... are these actually the seeds on a copperleaf? πŸ‘€πŸŒΏ

The first time I noticed them, I had to stop and take a closer look. They almost look like tiny red beads hiding throughout the plant. It is one of those little details that makes you appreciate just how interesting plants can be. ❀️✨

Did you already know these were the seeds? Save this video so you can spot them the next time you see a copperleaf, and let me know what plant has surprised you the most. 😊🌱

Yes, we know. It is July, it's 95+ degrees outside, and we're talking about Christmas anyway. πŸ˜‚β˜€οΈ

But the best holiday planters don't happen by accident. They start with a plan. Planning early means you'll have your installation reserved, your design selected, and one less thing on your holiday to do list when the busy season arrives. πŸŽ„βœ¨

By the time everyone else is scrambling to decorate, you can simply enjoy a front porch that's ready to welcome the season. Sometimes the best gift you can give yourself is a little extra peace during the holidays. 🀎

When do you usually start thinking about your holiday decorations? Comment "custom planters" and we'll DM you a link to reserve your holiday planter installation.

Mosquitoes ruining your time outside? πŸ‘€πŸŒΏ

Meet citronella geranium. It’s not just pretty it actually helps keep those pests away when placed near your seating areas. Bonus tip: gently crush the leaves to release more of that scent. ✨

A plant that looks good and works? We love her.

Save this for your next garden upgrade. 🌱

The easiest way to make a landscape feel brighter is not always by adding more plants. Sometimes it is about choosing the right one. 🌼✨

Gazania brings so much personality to a landscape with its cheerful yellow blooms, but one of my favorite features is actually the foliage. The soft, silvery texture creates beautiful contrast against green plants and helps every planting bed feel a little more layered and intentional. It is one of those plants that quietly does a lot of the design work for you. πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ

The first guest in our Friend or Foe series might surprise you. 🐍✨

Meet Lisa with the maintenance team. While out on a routine maintenance visit, she came across this garter snake. It may not be everyone's favorite yard visitor, but this one is definitely a friend. Garter snakes are harmless and help keep unwanted pests under control, making them a welcome part of a healthy landscape. 🌿😊

If you have routine maintenance with Gardenista Jax, Lisa is one of your yard's best friends. She keeps your landscape looking its best while keeping an eye on all the unique wildlife that makes Florida gardens so interesting.

Would you have known this was a friendly snake? Let us know in the comments, and save this video for the next time you spot one in your yard. πŸπŸ’š
