The biggest red flag on your milkweed. π©
A perfect looking milkweed is not always a good sign. Aphids, which are tiny sap sucking insects, are actually part of a healthy milkweed ecosystem. They provide food for ladybugs, lacewings, and other beneficial insects that help keep your garden in balance. ππ
If you're not seeing any aphids at all, it could be a sign that pesticides have been used nearby, although that is not always the reason. Sometimes it's simply timing, the weather, or your plant is still getting established. A few aphids on milkweed usually are not something to worry about.
