It’s Monday and we are in a heat wave! So that means this week is design week, no laser work due to the weather!
This week we’ve got some small shop improvements, some new designs, custom font🔥 for signage, some online development and working on getting a YouTube page up and going.
I’ve had more than anticipated reception to starting a series on laser machines for beginners. Guys! These machines are intimidating with the amount of know-how you need. From proper setup and calibration, to the software. I’m here to help so that YOU can do it. I should have a something together by the end of the week, to the point but easily and clearly explained videos on working with CO2 gantry machines. .
So, the Tip of the Week is: Dew points matter! A CO2 laser tube is generally liquid cooled, and very easily damaged. Condensation results from that coolant being colder than the ambient dew point, which leads to hotspots that can crack a tube. Even in climate controlled rooms, the high exhaust fan volume can draw moist warm air into your space and possibly cause issues.
Okay guys, stay cool!
