HELP US HELP OUR COMMUNITY!
Rotary Club of Poplar Bluff is bringing together the Sears Youth Center Community Liaison Council (CLC), Butler County Recycling Center, Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation, and the Poplar Bluff Historic Depot Restoration Corporation in a collaborative community improvement effort. The goal is to recycle plastic caps collected by Sears youth and Rotary Club members into durable public benches that can be placed at the Historic Depot Restoration site and a local park. This project would promote environmental responsibility, youth involvement, community partnerships, and beautification of public spaces while giving back to the community through sustainable recycling efforts.

Poplar Bluff Rotary Club held it’s annual Installation Banquet last night. This is the time of year we say thank you to the outgoing Board of Directors, and welcome in the new Board. We were blessed to have 3 of our District Officers in attendance (Linda Puchbauer, Ken Cooley, & Ralph Zuke). We ushered in our new Club President Brian Hicks and his selected Board with Oaths delivered by Ralph as his last official act as our District Governor. So very proud to be a part of this Club, and all the things we do to help our community. THANK YOU to all of our Rotarians!!!!

What a great day we had visiting with Steve Halter from the Poplar bluff Chamber of Commerce, and the folks he brought from the Gateway to Leadership Program. Steve also shared all the news about our community’s efforts and success with the “Bluff’s All-American Weekend”. The best part of the day for me personally, was that the Clubs’ longest running member joined us for lunch! Mr. (Judge) Bob Cope stopped by to make sure we are carrying on appropriately. ALWAYS a pleasure to visit with him!
