🌸 Magic Carpet Spirea🌸
🌸 To get the most out of its vivid red, copper, and gold leaf colors, plant in full light (at least six hours of direct sun each day).
🌸 As long as they drain freely, it adapts well to sandy, clay, or loam mixes. Steer clear of muddy or wet ground.
🌸 To create deep roots, water frequently during the first growth season. Once grown, it is remarkably drought-tolerant and only requires water during dry spells.
🌸 To retain moisture, cover the root zone with a 2- to 3-inch layer of organic mulch, keeping the mulch slightly away from the stems.
🌸 To promote dense branching and copious flowering, trim back the shrub by about one-third or heavily shape it in late winter to early spring before new buds appear.
🌸 Midsummer is a good time to gently shear off spent pink flower clusters to encourage new growth and a secondary bloom flush.
