Twilight season has arrived once again on the Olympic Peninsula. It can offer up moody fog followed by a sunny afternoon, the unpredictability of fall weddings makes them a little more exciting. My wedding season isn’t slowing down yet but I’m ready to welcome the rain, sit by a campfire and cycle through old vampire movies. Might I recommend The Hunger(1983).

A poem by me. Between all the discourse around being a cool girl, a weird girl, a hot girl who reads, or being whimsical or chic? I identify as a tired lady. I’m just like every other small business owner I know stuck between hating having to feed this app content, loving it for the ridiculous joe hegyes and needing it to survive. Instagram is sort of like the toxic ex you just can’t quit. So here I am yet again asking you to buy flowers.

This summer has had an abundance of juicy jewel tones and I’ve loved it! Looking back on these photos makes me miss anemone season but the orange candles have me running towards all things fall! Who else is excited about Practical magic 2!? We have a busy and booked fall but have limited availability in September and October. Remember we love a witchy wedding!

Meet Corbin! If you’ve come by the flower shop on a Saturday than his sweet face will already be familiar! He holds the shop down on Tuesdays and Saturdays so you should definitely come by and say hi! We asked him a few questions for you to get to know him better:

What’s your Favorite flower?
Anything orchid!

Book you recommend most to other people?
I like textbooks so, Organic Chemistry by David Klein is a good one if you’re interested 😂

How do you like to spend your weekend when you’re not working?
I love to document native flora and fauna using community science sources. I have a side quest to find all native orchids of WA.

If you could only listen to an album on repeat which one would it be?
Wow… okay, the album Nocturnal by Mothica.

Happy Pride Month! I’ve always been a little bit obsessed with the Victorian tradition of floriography and the idea of sending flowers with hidden meanings. Mix that with q***r history, and I’m hooked. If you ever want to send flowers with a message, I’d love to start incorporating more of that into my work.

For the featured flowers: violets represent sapphic love, lavender represents q***r resistance, and pansies represent pride and strength.

It feels meaningful to witness how words like “pansy,” once used as a derogatory term, have been reclaimed and reshaped into symbols of pride and identity. My partner even surprised me for our anniversary last year with matching pansy tattoos.

That’s the goal. While we source flowers seasonally, we’re always going to prioritize the vibe and create something that feels true to your vision. This wedding bouquet was so bright and juicy!

Getting to deliver florals for friends makes the experience even sweeter. This Port Townsend elopement was absolutely stunning, and I couldn’t be more excited to attend the reception today and celebrate with the rad couple.

Oh no have you heard that chartreuse and burgundy are over done wedding colors? Who cares? It shouldn’t be you! Honestly the trends have gotten to be too much. We romanticize past wedding eras and don’t think of them as cheesy or overdone but classic. You’ll apply that same nostalgia to your own wedding someday so I say do whatever you want and quit worrying what the internet tells you.

Ps. We will never not be obsessed with chartreuse.
