Fourteen years ago, we had no idea where this little booth would lead.
This popped up in our Facebook memories today.
Back then, Verna was designing and making jewelry, and we were hauling displays into trade shows and setting up booths like this one.
We didn’t have a souvenir store. We weren’t planning one. We were just making things, selling them, learning what people responded to, and enjoying being part of shows and events.
Years later, a lot of those same things — making products ourselves, building displays, talking with customers, and creating something people enjoy browsing through — became part of All About Here.

Funny how sometimes you don’t realize you’re building toward something until you can look back and see the path.

We’ve been keeping a little secret…

All About Here is growing! 🎉

Today we’re signing the lease to expand into the space right next door, nearly doubling our retail space and giving us a whole lot more room for the things you already love — plus quite a few things we simply haven’t had room for.

When we opened All About Here, we hoped Port Angeles would embrace the idea of a good old-fashioned souvenir and gift store that celebrates this incredible place we get to call home.

You have. More than we ever expected.

So now it’s time for the next chapter.

We’ll take possession of the new space November 1, and then the hammers, paint brushes and probably a few bad words will begin. 😄 We’re planning to have the expanded All About Here ready for you by early spring.

We’ll share the transformation along the way.

A small project for the fair meant a lot to us.

We had the chance to 3D print these little signs for a local 4-H club showing livestock at the Clallam County Fair this past weekend.

It was a small project, but a pretty special one.

We love seeing local kids put time, care, and pride into something they’ve worked hard on — and it was fun knowing something made right here in the shop got to be part of their fair weekend.

Congratulations to all the 4-H kids, families, and clubs who showed animals this year.

We want visitors to remember Port Angeles before they even leave.

All About Here will be featured in the Guide a Guest books placed in hotel rooms throughout Port Angeles and Sequim in November, and we’re pretty excited about that.

For us, this store has always been about more than selling souvenirs.

It’s about celebrating Port Angeles, Olympic National Park, the Olympic Peninsula, and the experience people come here hoping to find.

When visitors walk through our door, we want them to find something that helps them remember the trip — a shirt, a mug, a magnet, a postcard, a gift for someone back home, or maybe just a little local direction.

A little local.
A little useful.
A little “I want to remember this place.”

One of the things we love about Port Angeles is how people show up.

Verna got to be part of the 4th of July parade this year through her work with a local assisted living facility, and it was another reminder of how much community matters here.

All About Here is our little store, but it’s part of a much bigger place we’re grateful to call home — the people, the families, the visitors, the traditions, and the small-town moments that make Port Angeles feel like Port Angeles.

They didn’t just come back — they brought people with them.

Lately, we’ve been seeing repeat customers bring visiting friends and family into the store and show them things they’ve liked, recommended, or bought here before.

That means a lot to us.

There’s something special about watching someone walk another person over to a display and say, “This is the kind of thing I was telling you about.”

Moments like that remind us that a store can be more than just a place to shop.
It can become part of how people share a town, a visit, or a memory with someone else.

She came back just to tell us the margaritas were excellent.

A woman from Texas came into the store while she was in Port Angeles for work and asked if we knew a good Mexican restaurant in town.

We sent her to Sergio’s.

The next day, she came back and told us the food was so good and the margaritas were excellent.

We love moments like that.

Sometimes people come in looking for souvenirs. Sometimes they’re just looking for a good recommendation, a little local help, or the next good stop in town.

Helping people enjoy Port Angeles is part of the fun too.

We were closed, but he saw it in the window and had to come back.

A man was eating next door when one of the hats in our window caught his eye.

Later, he came in, walked straight to it, and bought it.

My wife puts a lot of care into our street-facing windows, and moments like that remind us those little details really do matter.

Sometimes people don’t plan on stopping in.
They just see something they love.

They put the shirts on before they even left the store.

A group of five visitors came in while vacationing in Port Angeles and found one of the Olympic National Park shirt designs we make right here in the shop.

Each of them picked their favorite color.

Then, instead of just carrying them out in a bag, they changed into them right there so they could spend the rest of the day sightseeing in their Olympic National Park shirts.

That’s the kind of thing that makes us smile.

Sometimes people aren’t just buying a shirt.
They’re choosing the memory they want to be wearing when they make the next one.

They had been all over town before they found us.

This weekend, a family of four from Missouri told us they had been looking for just the right place — and when they walked into our store, they said we were exactly what they had been hoping to find:

“A good old fashioned souvenir store.”

They stayed nearly an hour, picking out T-shirts, hoodies, magnets, and gifts to take back home.

That meant a lot to us.

We’ve always hoped All About Here would feel like the kind of place where people can find something fun, something local, and something worth carrying home.
