Thank you, friends of Forest Gems.
2026 marks 50 years of producing my own fine woodworking products, beginning in 1976 on the Pike Place Market day stalls. In 2000, Forest Gems in Port Townsend was founded to showcase my evolving work and to finance and support West coast artisans. Our move to Port Hadlock nearly two years ago began semi-retirement.

It's now time to liquidate our wood and art collection. We are in negotiations with other galleries to represent our artisans.

Before the collection moves on, and as a thank-you to those who have supported us, we are offering discounts from 30% to 50% off to you who took the time to keep in touch via our mailing list. Some exclusions apply. All raw wood is 50% off.

So, please stop in soon on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, or phone 360-379-1713, or email [email protected], to get a piece of 50 years of real Northwest history.

Hello Friends of Forest Gems,

All gallery operations will be shifting to appointment-only in 2026.

We may wholesale all or part of the collection to other galleries as we shift to raw wood sales, and custom woodworking design consultations.

This holiday season may be the last opportunity to visit and purchase from our full collection, curated for over 50 years, in person.

Thank you for your patronage over the years since 1996, in Port Townsend and since 1976 at Harvey's stall at Pike Place Market. It has been a distinct honor to show and finance the work of dozens of local and west coast woodcrafters and artisans.

This amazing altar for a church in Edmonds, WA was custom designed with the pastor. The uprights are figured spalt live edge maple and the top and base are live edge old-growth salvaged redwood slabs. Featured on the base is a carved mushroom art piece by Jeff Totten of Bellingham, WA . The pastor felt that it symbolized the healing and restorative energy of the Earth. What a wonderful result!
