A little bakery honesty today 🤍🍞

Gluten-free sourdough is a completely different beast from traditional sourdough. The consistency of the flour is not the same as traditional bread flour, the dough behaves differently, and the entire process is not what I’m used to working with when it comes to sourdough.

I’ve had a select few gluten-free loaves come out beautifully, but I’ve also had far too many inconsistencies lately. And I’m completely okay admitting when something just isn’t my strength. I’m much more comfortable, experienced, and confident working with my good ol’ gluten-filled sourdough! 😂

At this point, I’m spending precious time, expensive gluten-free flour, and what little sanity I have left trying to get something consistently to the standard I expect from The Loavely Lady. And honestly… gluten-free is just not for me! 🤷‍♀️

I’d rather be honest about my limitations than continue wasting ingredients and your time trying to make something I’m not 100% confident in.

So, gluten-free sourdough is officially discontinued at The Loavely Lady.

Thank you to everyone who gave my gluten-free loaves a try and supported me while I experimented with them. 🤎 Sometimes knowing what isn’t your thing is just as important as knowing what is! ☺️
