How much would you charge to be late to this?
$50?
$150?
Or is your time with your kids simply… priceless?
I’ve gotten a little pushback lately about our rush fees, so I thought it was worth sharing the why behind them.
Social media shows you a really fun business. 🎈 And it IS fun. I love what I do. I love creating your celebrations, getting the wild last-minute idea to work, and being part of the moments your families will remember.
But there’s a human behind the balloons.
I’m also a mom with kids ranging from kindergarten to college. There are games. Practices. School events. Family dinners. Bedtimes. And occasionally there are afternoons that apparently require bat wings and carrying a small child through the house. 😂
When an order comes in at the last minute, the rush fee isn’t a punishment for ordering late.
You’re asking me to make room where there wasn’t room.
It may mean staying at the shop later. Coming in earlier. Rearranging production. Changing my family’s plans. Or missing part of something I don’t get to do over again.
And the closer we get to your celebration, the more valuable that time becomes.
So yes, we charge rush fees. And as our business continues to grow and our boundaries get a little better, those fees may grow too.
Because I can make more balloons.
I cannot make more time. 🤍
Whenever possible, order early. You’ll save the rush fee, I’ll have plenty of time to create something wonderful for you, and maybe I’ll even make it to the game on time. 😉
